Located in the ghost own of Terlingua, just 10 minutes from Big Bend National Park's west entrance. Built by miners a hundred years ago, the cabin has been comfortably updated while keeping its authentic feel. Its spacious porch affords the best view of the mountains of Big Bend National Park as well as the stars at night. Although it has an indoor bedroom and bathroom, guests love the outdoor shower as well as the open air bed on the patio.

The space
The cabin accommodates two people. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a sitting loft, a bedroom, a bathroom and a spacious porch with a sitting area and a day bed. Please note that the bathroom is separate from the house, but only a few steps out the back door. An excellent base of operations for all outdoorsy folk.

I've lived in Terlingua for nearly thirty years. I first came to Big Bend to go on a rafting trip, and I fell in love with the landscape. When I finally moved here, I bought three dilapidated mining ruins, and I've worked on restoring them over the years. I have managed a bookstore in the Ghost Town for the past 13 years, but when I got here I worked as a river guide. I've also worked as a field biologist all over the western United States. I've released peregrine falcons, California condors and aplomado falcons into the wild, and have studied other endangered species as well. My work took me to Yosemite National Park, the Channel Islands, Montana's Centennial Valley, Rocky Mountain National Park, Big Bend National Park, and the Grand Canyon. I love to hike and bird and boat and travel with my dog. I'm happy to share my knowledge of this beautiful desert with you.
