Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Groovy Glamper is a vintage aluminium camper deposited in the middle of an 11 acres desert sanctuary and sculpture park adjacent to the Saguaro National Park. Enjoy the quietness of the desert in a safe environment surrounded by art located at just 35 minutes from downtown Tucson.

Before you make a reservation please note that check in is in person only and not later than 10:00PM. No exception!

The space
We have completely renovated this beautiful Vintage aluminium Boles camper with a colorful thematic. The private shower, sink and dry compost toilet are in exterior attached to the camper on a circular elevated deck that surround the facility.
The property is an desert art space called The Island In Tucson. You may read more informations about our project via the website and the Instagram profile under the same name. The property is fenced and the security cameras allow us to feel fully secured.
The Groovy Glamper is set at 25 yards from another Airbnb guesthouse called Time Capsule. It is possible for guests who want to share their stay with friends or relatives to rent both places at the same time. Our main house is at a distance of 140 yards so easily reachable in case of specific need, but far enough to feel isolated.

We live in a natural environment that we love and respect very much. This is why will be provided plant based body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and dish soap. The water used in the shower and the sink feed trees around thanks to an underground drain system. Because we live in a dry place and water is rare, the toilet systems in the guest house and in our main home are dry compost toilets that allow us to waste less water. It is very easy to use, we will take care to explain to our guests the basic things to do that are very easy and not unpleasant. The water used on the property is a mix of harvested rain water and water coming from a community well delivered by truck. The water is drinkable as it is filtered with a UV system that kill 99% of germs.
Please note that even if we provide everything for cooking (microwave, portable hot plate with pans, charcoal grill, coffee maker…) there is no dedicated kitchen in the glamper. The experience we offer here is literally a glamorous camping.

Guest access
You will reach the property directly from Rudasill road. The entrance is indicated thanks to a sign with number 12074.
The driveway is of dirt but accessible with any type of vehicle.
When crossing the gate, please park on the left, following the sign guesthouse parking. Olivier or Emily will join you in the parking area for showing you around.
You will have to walk approximately 100 yards through the desert with your luggage to reach the glamper. No car is allowed by the facility.

Other things to note
Your car will be parked at about 50 yards from the glamper, so please expect to walk through the desert a couple of minutes for reaching the facility.

We live in a rural environment so you may hear roosters, dogs and coyotes at anytime. The motion detection outdoor lights may turn on because of animals circulating at night.

I am a visual artist using painting, sculpture and land art as medium of expression. Emily my partner is a feminist activist studying psychological science. We are both critical thinkers with a high eco consciousness. We live and work in our property located in the desert just next to the Saguaro N.P. in Tucson. Our house and guesthouses are built in a way to reduce to its minimum our impact on nature without losing comfort and esthetic.
