Great location two blocks from St. Peter's and a grocery store two to three blocks away, especially with a small fridge and kitchen which we used. Cafes and restaurants across the street and a few doors down. Used the convenient laundromat directly across the street. Roomy apartment, strong--almost too strong--shower pressure and plenty of hot water. Comfortable beds, plenty of blankets that kept us warm overnight (in April). On a main street that was noisy at times but we were so tired it never bothered us. First apartment inside the front door but, again, the front door closing did not affect our sleep.
Irina was very helpful, especially when we left a bag in the apartment and she called us and brought it to our parents' hotel around the block. Apartment was clean and in good shape. Definitely would recommend this apartment, especially if St. Peter's is the focus of the trip as it was for us. Easy to jump on 64 bus that stopped right in front of apartment or to get a cab at St. Peter's Square to major sights (our preference).
The apartment was very well equipped, just as beautiful as the pictures, and we loved the location!! We were met by Irina when we arrived who had great suggestions and a very detailed map, which came in quite handy. Whenever we are in Rome we will definitely stay at the Bernini house!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bernini House. It was a fantastic location, just a few mins walk to St Peter's Square and from here we found all of the other major sights of the city easily accessible by foot. However if you don't wish to walk, the 64 bus (which stops right outside the building) was a fantastic link through the city (and very cheap 4euro day pass, which you could buy from the tabacchi opposite the building) and the open top sight seeing buses all stopped at the end of the street leading up to St Peter's Square from the castle.
The apartment itself was very clean and spacious and had everything we needed. The host was very helpful and answered lots of our questions giving tips on where to eat etc. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place to others.
This is definitely a good choice to stay. The apartment is very big and clean. The bed is very comfy. Recommended.
Location: Excellent for the Vatican. Termini station and almost all Roman sites are on the other side of the city. Coffee across the street. Lunch and simple, but excellent dinner, on the corner to your right when you exit. Say hello to Sabina! and Aldo! Il Quattro Mori excellent for fixed price multi course seafood dinner. Say hello to Giovanni (Little John). Borgo Pio is the neighborhood. The actual road, Borgo Pio, has several fun restaurants.
Bedrooms: Excellent beds and lots of room.
Bathrooms: Excellent and modern.
Kitchen: Small. Adequate for small meals.
Living area: Small. Kitchenette adjoins.
Overall: We enjoyed this place very much, but it is a little smaller than the photos make it appear. Because of the close proximity to the Vatican this apartment can be, and was, severely impacted by foot and motor traffic when there is major activity (such as the blessing of the school children (200,000)) by the Pope. Check the Vatican schedule to be assured the Basilica will be open.
What an incredible value! Just steps away from Vatican City, the apartment was immaculate, well furnished and surprisingly spacious. Even the art on the walls was impressive. They helped us every step of the way, even organizing a car service to pick us up from the train station. The driver was waiting for us on our platform - literally door to door service! Nothing negative to say about this apartment. Fully satisfied and highly recommended. One thing to note - the listing says there is no WiFi but it DOES have WiFi - we almost didn't book because of this!
