The Space

The Bernini house is a well-refined apartment at the first floor of a very elegant period building just renovated.

The house is about 75 sqm and have two rooms with double bed, two-doors wardrobe, an armchair and a private bathroom.

Besides, the apartment has a comfortable living room with a sofa bed, a table with six chairs and a kitchenette together with appliances and kitchen stuff necessary in order to assure you a pleasant stay.
The two rooms and the living room have a TV, Wi-Fi access, air-conditioning and a heating.

An amazing view of the Bernini's famous colonnade of Saint Peter's Square - which you can enjoy directly from your room or the living rooms - fills the atmosphere

  • Location: Excellent for the Vatican. Termini station and almost all Roman sites are on the other side of the city. Coffee across the street. Lunch and simple, but excellent dinner, on the corner to your right when you exit. Say hello to Sabina! and Aldo! Il Quattro Mori excellent for fixed price multi course seafood dinner. Say hello to Giovanni (Little John). Borgo Pio is the neighborhood. The actual road, Borgo Pio, has several fun restaurants.
Bedrooms: Excellent beds and lots of room.
    Bathrooms: Excellent and modern.
Kitchen: Small. Adequate for small meals.
    Living area: Small. Kitchenette adjoins.
Overall: We enjoyed this place very much, but it is a little smaller than the photos make it appear. Because of the close proximity to the Vatican this apartment can be, and was, severely impacted by foot and motor traffic when there is major activity (such as the blessing of the school children (200,000)) by the Pope. Check the Vatican schedule to be assured the Basilica will be open.

  • What an incredible value! Just steps away from Vatican City, the apartment was immaculate, well furnished and surprisingly spacious. Even the art on the walls was impressive. They helped us every step of the way, even organizing a car service to pick us up from the train station. The driver was waiting for us on our platform - literally door to door service! Nothing negative to say about this apartment. Fully satisfied and highly recommended. One thing to note - the listing says there is no WiFi but it DOES have WiFi - we almost didn't book because of this!

  • We stayed 4 nights at Bernini House. The location is perfect! The apartment was quite spacious for 3 adults with 2 nice bathrooms.
We had an issue with 1 of the heaters which was taken care of right away. Allesandra even helped us with our transfers! We will definitely stay there again.

  • We loved the location of apartment. Great neighborhood and very convenient. The bedrooms were great and comfortable, we wished we would have known that the third bed was not a bedroom, but rather the kitchen living area. However, our two teenagers didn't mind it one bit.
Also, we had some trouble leaving our passports in the last (website hidden) and Suzana was great in helping us get our passports back. Communication was immediate and helpful. Thanks - I would highly recommend! Thanks for a wonderful time in Roma - Erika

Altamente recomendado

  • My wife and I had a bedroom to ourselves with a private bath. The bed was perfect. I have a bad back and was concerned about how the bed would sleep. It had a thick memory form mattress and it slept just fine. The shower in the bathroom was small but worker perfectly with lots of very hot water. The heater in the bedroom worker fine, but the remote control took some figuring out. Ask the young lady that meets you at the apartment to explain the remote to you if you have concerns. A second bedroom of similar size was used by my future daughter-in-law. My two adult sons shared a sofa that converted into a fold-out bed. One of my sons said that this was not as comfortable as my bed but definitely adequate for our four-day stay. There was a second bathroom that the three of them shared together. I should say that there was five adults in our party. The apartment was perfectly adequate for all of us. There is a small kitchen that we used to prepare a couple of meals. The apartment is right beside a busy street, and the street noise can sometimes be heard inside the apartment. This was not a problem for us. One of the great things about the apartment is what you find when you step outside. You are surrounded by a vibrant Italian community. Several excellent restaurants are within a short walk of your front door. You really get a taste of Italian day-to-day life. A five to ten minute walk takes you to the Vatican - no need to take a cab or bus. There is a city bus stop right out side the apartment, but my family and I did not use it. There are many things to see in Rome within a short walk of the Vatican, and your apartment is next door (literally) to the Vatican. Would I use this apartment again if I return to Rome? Most definitely. I should point out that inside the front door to the building is a lovely marble covered foyer with about ten steps leading up to the apartment itself. There is no ramp or handicap access to the apartment. If you would have problems with climbing the steps (about ten) this could be a concern. There are two nice large beds in the apartment for two couples. Two other adults have sleep accommodations with the use of the fold-out sofa. The descriptions of the department at airbnb were accurate and the pictures as well. I hope to return to Rome one day, and, when I do, I hope that the department is available for rent. I would not hesitate to use it again. One last thing. Let the apartment owners arrange for meeting you at the airport. They had a driver with van meet our party of five and they brought us to our front door. The cost was 70 Euros. This was simple and relatively...

  • We've stayed in Alessandra's apartment in January 2013. Me, my husband and another couple have stayed in Bernini House for a long weekend in January 2013. We wanted a place near Vatican, close to restaurants and all attractions. Bernini House was absolutely perfect, we've walked everywhere! Vatican was literally down the road. I loved the fact that the apartment was very clean and towel and linens were crispy white. The fact that we had a separate bathrooms was a huge bonus (we've never run out of hot water :))
Beds are amazing! We were travelling with pregnant lady and she said she had the best sleep ever! and me and my husband completely agree with that.
Travelling from and to the apartment was very easy, Irina explained to us everything we needed to know on a very first day. Even though it's very easy to use a bus, which stops literally outside the apartment, we've walked everywhere and come back by taxi, which I found very affordable (less than €10 from any point it central Rome).
And last but not least a massive thank you to Alessandra and Irina for being very flexible with us (they've let us check in very late-10pm and check out at 6pm) and for answering all our questions before arrival.
If we ever come back to Rome we definitely gonna stay at Bernini House

  • We were 6 people staying in this appartement for 6 days, and we enjoyed our stay.
The appartement is very well decorated and clean. Bed are very confortable.

Alessandra & Irina were highly available which help us to organize our trip before and during the stay.

Alessandra organize the transfer from the airport it was very convinient.

The only thing which disappointed us was the fact that one room and the living room didn't have double glazing. So as the street is a bit noisy, it was not very confortable for sleeping.

Otherwise situation of the flat is geat : carrefour is just at 10min, there some restaurants arround, just located next to St Pierre.
