Kenand LaVerne were wonderful hosts, the cabin exceeded our expectations and is prettier than the pictures! The cabin is also completely solar powered which was really neat. The hosts were very accessible and gave us great tips on places to go, you can have a nice cup of coffee on the deck in the morning and stargaze at night. I came with just my dad but the cabin has a cozy feel but more than spacious enough for three people. We hope to be back soon, thank you for a great time!
Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location. We loved our time here! Ken and LaVerne were excellent hosts and did a great job of providing us all the information we needed to have an enjoyable and stress-free weekend.
We had such a lovely time at Ken and LaVerne's cabin in Big Sur. It was such a nice respite during our road trip down the west coast. So quiet and peaceful and nature-filled!
Ken & Laverne were wonderful hosts, and the cabin is a beautiful rustic retreat; you're surrounded by a beautiful pine and oak Forest you can hear sway and rustle softly in the ocean breeze. The tranquility is accompanied by the beautiful songs of wild bird.
The cabin itself is small, yet has open floor plans giving guests plenty of room to move. It's clean and well kept. The beautiful wood walls give it a traditional cabin appearance, and without t.v., computers, or the internet, it brings you back to a simpler time.
Ken & Laverne are wonderful. They insured we had directions and wouldn't get lost multiple times. They also checked in on us and answered any questions we have. After that, they gave us plenty of space, but made it clear they were always here the help.
My wife and I loved our stay and would come back agai.
Ken and LaVerne were very accommodating. We had some changes in our schedule and arrived later than intended, but they still were there when we arrived late to let us become familiar with the area. The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed. We truly enjoyed our stay and had a magical experience in Big Sur.
This is a great cabin in a beautiful location, easy access to Hwy 1. A good alternative to the hotel experience. LaVerne and Ken were friendly, thorough and obviously take pride in their property. The many personal details throughout the cabin give it a feeling of home, and everything worked fine. Quiet, secluded, peaceful...Big Sur. Thanks again to Ken and LaVerne. We hope to stay there again.
Ken and LaVerne's cabin in Big Sur is a true retreat. From the second you drive onto their property, scratch that, up the road you immediately feel transported to a place of pure relaxation. LaVerne made sure we were completely set up to find the cabin as it can be a little tricky, but she made it a breeze. We felt so welcome and ready to begin an incredible weekend!
The outdoor space was pure perfection after a hike. Sitting under the umbrella with friends, a glass of wine and amazing nature surrounding you, it wasnt a surprise we all started looking for when we could return (and they expressed regret they hadn't found a place as amazing!).
There were lovely little touches everywhere in the cabin - we loved that it was solar powered - and felt perfectly at home. Thanks again LaVerne and Ken!
