A family home in a quiet country location, Caroline's place was a wonderful stopover as I drove around Ireland. The room is spacious and the bed is big and comfortable. The welcome I experienced here cannot be beat, as I was made to feel like an old friend. Excellent travel suggestions provided, too! If your route takes you nearby, I highly recommend a stay here.

Caroline and Peter are just the loveliest people. They have chickens (fresh eggs!) and apple trees and a gorgeous garden and Peter's amazing gin. But more than all of this, they are a pleasure to eat a meal with. I will be returning to stay with them whenever I'm able.

Conna was lovely, if a little remote. Caroline and Peter were fantastic hosts and the coddled, freshly laid eggs were brilliant, as was Peter's own-made gin. It was a little difficult to get somewhere to eat but this didn't put us off too much.

Lovely to meet you both, and we are definitely going to follow your example and go kayaking on the Blackwater, which sounds truly magical.

Please take the opportunity to visit this rare and stunning home. Discover what a 200+ years old house looks like after a beautiful reno. The breakfast was heavenly and the stories and connections were plentiful and good.

Response from Caroline:
Thank you both for coming to stay - we thoroughly enjoyed hosting you, and are very glad your dates changed so we had time to chat!

Caroline and Peter's home is a delightful old blacksmith's cottage in the picturesque small village of Conna. Their home is extremely comfortable and their hospitality was second to none including a breakfast of home hatched eggs from their heritage hens. It is plain to see why Caroline and Peter have Airbnb Superhost status and I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay in their lovely home to anyone seeking a comfortable and hospitable stay in the countryside.

That's very kind of you Tony - we enjoyed meeting and chatting with you and glad that you got to see the rugby, even if the result wasn't as hoped for! Hope our paths will cross again, best wishes, Caroline, Peter & Daniel

This is a truly special place. The directions were easy to follow and very accurate. The cottage is beautiful, cosy and warm. I enjoyed the walk into Conna and Conna Castle and the drive to Lismore for dinner. Although I didn't meet Caroiline and Peter, they gave me excellent check-in advice and left me a note explaining everything. I would definitely go back. Catherine

Loving living in rural Cork with my husband Peter, toddler Daniel and 5 laying hens. We enjoy the good life, but without the hair shirt! We share a keen interest in the arts, food and drink and our family. Whilst almost no public transport in this part of the world unfortunately, there's plenty of parking out front, and good road connections to the rest of Cork, the south west and nearby Waterford, the home of the beautiful crystal.
