West Portal is a great neighborhood.
There are lots of restaurants, nail salons, a movie theatre, banks and easy access to transit for dowtown.
From West Portal, it is easy access to downtown and Fisherman's Wharf and most of the tourist areas. From 19th Avenue (which is a 3 block walk) easy access to #28 bus which takes you to Golden Gate Park and the Golden Gate Bridge.
I expect my guests to respect my property.
I will not tolerate sneaking in extra guests without notification and payment.
No animals allowed.
No smoking in house but can smoke in garden area.
Sheila welcomed us to her home, and had everything we needed - including things for breakfast that first morning; much appreciated by two weary travelers. We loved that the apartment was within easy walking distance of the West Portal shops, that parking was right there in the driveway, that it was close to our family. Everything was clean and neat and comfortable. There were enough outlets to keep all our electronics charged up. It felt quiet and away from the city; but it was easy to get to from the airport, and provided us with easy access to everything we wanted. Just right for the two of us.
Sheila was really nice and responded promptly to inquiries. She made the check in and check out really easy and was welcoming and helpful. The place was really beautiful, clean, comfortable and at a great location. I really recommend this place and I am very thankful for the nice stay.
Shelia was very welcoming and so accomodating! The house was clean, kitchen stocked with the basics, and plenty of towels. The crib was also a major bonus so that we didn't need to travel with a pack & play. The off street parking was great and the "downtown" area was within walking distance with some really good restaurants.
Sheila was incredibly hospitable and welcoming. It was so lovely to stay in my old neighborhood. The peaceful quiet was exactly what I needed. The place has lots of space and character and is minutes away from West Portal where muni can take you pretty much anywhere in the city. I had a great experience and would definitely recommend!
I travelled to San Francisco for three days with my teenage daughter and teenage niece. These accommodations were perfect; clean, comfortable, safe.
Sheila was an awesome host. She was available when we arrived. She oriented us to the city and local community. Sheila also made us feel welcome to approach her if we had questions during our stay.
The neighborhood is an excellent jumping off place to the city. It is an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and transportation. (Indeed, my sixteen-year-old daughter reported after three days of blanketing the city that West Portal is her favorite part of SF!)
I absolutely would stay again.
I travel a lot between Seattle and San Francisco. West Portal is the perfect neighborhood for me when I am away from home and as always, Sheila is an amazing host. Thanks again!
This was our second time staying at Sheila s appartment. Sheila communicated well and the space was clean and had everything necessary for a pleasant stay. It is nicer than the pictures and extremely well located.
I am retired from working for the City and County of San Francisco.
I have been hosting international students and love it. I have met people from all over the world and love hearing about their customs and sharing ours and also this wonderful city with all it's adventures.
I love traveling and have been to many continents. Asia will be in the near future.
I am taking classes at San Francisco State to keep my brain activated.
