Sarah is a perfect hostess. SHe was accomodating , non intrusive, friendly, helpful with information of the area. She has a beautiful historic home. I loved my stay.
Sarah was a wonderful host striking the perfect balance between giving us a great overview of the place, being available when we had questions, but giving us our own personal space. It really felt like home by the end of our stay. The house itself is gorgeous and it was pretty incredible walking through it our first couple of days thinking about the history - it was built in the 1700s! Not only does it have history, but on a practical standpoint, the room is enormous and Sarah was willing to make some room in the fridge for our supplies and we were able to cook our own meals with ease. We really could not have asked for more.
Woodbury is a cute little town and there is a grocery store within walking distance along with a plethora of antiqu shops and easy access to the beautiful Litchfield Hills. I was working in Middlebury for a few months and this was a great base (about a 12 minute drive).
I would highly recommend staying here and if you are only planning on spending a night or two, consider extending to really enjoy your stay!
I stayed at Sarah's the night before a triathlon nearby. I was just looking for a convenient place to stay, but found so much more. Sarah was a wonderful host. She was extremely accommodating and flexible about everything. She made me feel at home immediately and but let me go about my business getting ready for the race. It was great to have full access to the kitchen--she even made room in her fridge for my provisions. Sarah even offered to let me return after the race to shower and pack up before driving back home. I really appreciated that!
The room was gorgeous and just as advertised--only larger. It was very comfortable--especially the bed. And, so quiet! I only wish I had had more time to appreciate the surroundings. The grounds were gorgeous.
I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend Pretty in Pink! Thanks, Sarah!
I had the greatest experience staying with Sarah! The “Pretty in Pink” room is more of a studio apartment, with 2 beds in an incredibly spacious room and private full bath. My work took me to Waterbury for 3 months and Sarah's place served as the perfect home away from home with an easy commute. Woodbury itself is absolutely charming, particularly if you’re interested in antiques. The room is much larger that I anticipated, clean, and extremely comfortable. Sarah is a wonderful hostess, ready to engage in conversation and entertainment while not being overbearing and allowing you your privacy. My dogs were welcomed and the park across the street was a great place for walks. I can’t recommend Sarah and her beautiful home highly enough!
This multi century old home is interesting, charming, comfortable and just exactly what we were hoping to experience. We were excited to find the room so large and comfortable with a modern bath. The location was central to all our planned events, as well as many restaurants and historical finds. Sarah enjoys telling stories while preparing delicious breakfasts that started our days. She is a great host and we enjoyed our stay tremendously.
We had another lovely stay at Sarah's charming house. This time we stayed in the "pink" room with 2 twin beds and had a very restful night. The room is bright and spacious and the beds are SUPER comfortable. Our pup loved it too and was able to run around in Hollow Park right across the street. Highly recommend staying here.
Sarah's home is welcoming, clean and peaceful. I enjoyed my stay and the quietness in the home

About the Host, Sarah
I am a museum consultant and caretaker of my family's historic home. I have a deep and abiding interest in local history, historic preservation, art, gardens and the natural world. I am happiest when engaged in conversations with people who are curious about the world and open to experiences. I enjoy meeting Airbnb visitors, finding them generally interesting, friendly and open. I want you to feel welcome in my home and tend to be a relaxed hostess. I leave you to yourselves, unless you'd rather engage, in which case I'm happy to talk.
