Walking distance to River Seine, Ile St Louis, the Picasso Museum, Place des Vosges, Centre Georges Pommpidou and Notre Dame de Paris. Surrounded by excellent food and wine shops, bakeries. Close to two metro stations : St Paul (Line 1) and Pont Marie (Line 7).
We stayed in the apartment for 4 nights and were very much impressed. The apartment was clean, beautiful and very big, impressive considering this is Paris. The view from the apartment looks out to St Pauls and the street is very quaint and Parisian with a wonderful bakery not 2 minutes away. With a little 6 year old in tow we felt safe and he loved the apartment also. We would recommend staying here to anyone visiting Paris - and the flights of stairs is really not that bad, and we are not the fittest bunch so please do not be deterred on this count.
We enjoyed our stay in this neat Parisian apartment in a good location. The big windows give a nice French feel and the view to the nearby church from the bedroom was an uplifting sight – particularly in the twilight at the beginning and end of the day. The apartment was warm, very clean and the bathroom and kitchen were top drawer. If I was to be picky I thought the apartment felt a little sparse and not very welcoming when you return after a long day, but this does not diminish its accommodation value.
The apartment is several floors up without a lift but (other than if you have to carry small children – which we weren't) this shouldn't put you off. Interestingly, we stayed in a fourth floor apartment in Rome with a lift but we mostly used the stairs anyway; only using the lift for luggage.
So ... if you’re after a well positioned Paris apartment suitable for a travelling family, I am happy to recommend. And the café down the street (same side as the apartment) with the awning does a fine morning coffee (at the bar) and well-priced French lunch and dinner.
(Oh, one other thing that might be of interest to Airbnb hosts all over. And please note that I offer these examples to illustrate my point rather than to criticise. Upon arriving we were told by the host’s helpful offsider that the television did not work but they'd try to get it fixed during our stay [it wasn’t]. Now, no one travels to Paris to watch the television but sometimes at the end of a big day out a bit of tv is exactly what’s needed – particularly if you’re lugging a young family around [again, we weren’t so we didn’t care so much]. Similarly, only one side of the bed in the master bedroom had a reading lamp which, as it was my side, I found irritating.
So Airbnb hosts, please put yourself in the shoes of your guests/clients/market and take a look around your accommodation through their eyes. What first impression are you giving? What little things might irritate you during your stay? And what might enhance your stay? How would you, critically, review your own apartment?)
fantastic ! brilliant location and lovely flat - spacious but friendly and well equipped. Amazingly quiet at night in spite of being so close to so many brilliant restaurants etc. would definitely recommend and would definitely try and stay there again.
Wonderful apartment with a fabulous location. Highly recommended.
We loved this apartment! Clean, great location and lots of light. It was a joy to stay here. Mary, who arranged to meet us and get the key was fabulous and very helpful in many ways. my luggage did not arrive until the day before we had to leave and Mary worked with Air France to have the bags dropped off at the apartment. We will definitely return!
Fantastic location that was in the lovely St Paul village of the Marais. We walked to everything and used the metro that was so close to the apartment. The apartment was light and airy, warm and had everything we needed including lovely wine glasses. We were met by Mary who walked us through everything and was very happy to give advice. We were a family 2 adults and 2 teenagers and it was roomy enough for us all. The stairs made it feel quintessentially french. We would highly recommend it.
A great apartment in a perfect location to explore Le Marais and all of Paris. Aurel was very helpful in getting us settled in for our week in Paris. We were a family of five and the apartment accommodated us comfortably.
This is a truly excellent flat. Large, great kitchen, really well stocked, quiet, and exactly central in the Marais. There are stairs, but they aren't too much of a bother. This is everything I love about airbnb- it made our Paris stay magical.
The apartment is very nice and clean, inspite of the 5 floors of stairs.
Beautiful apartment! Perfect location, great accommodations and everything we'd ever need. Nicole was very very helpful too, it was nice to be greeted by her and have an introduction to all the appliances. Hope to stay here again one day, it really made our trip to Paris special!
