Great room in the very center of old Amsterdam in a nice neighbourhood called 'de Jordaan'. Alot of cafes and shops. From here to Dam square it is a 5-10 minute walk. 5 minutes from central station. And you can borrow my museumcard for free entrance.
You'll be sleeping in a nice apartment in the Amsterdam in a street wich has recently won the price of best shopping street in the city. Situated in de Jordaan, you are in the center of one of the most beautiful and oldest parts of Amsterdam.
There is a hallway to the shower and the bathroom, these are shared. At the end of the halfway is the private bedroom. I will be sleeping in a hammoc or the pull-out sofa.
The house is very close to public transportation: central station and ferries to the north of amsterdam, all in walking distance. Local grocery store across the street, walking distance to great parks, restaurants, little shops and cafes nearby too!
Every monday morning around 8.00 there is a biological and second hand market around the corner witch is worth visiting.
Please note that the apartment is not super big, so please tell me if you are bringing a lot of luggage.
Please tell me what time you think you will arrive @ my place when you make a booking / inquiery.
- Please don´t contact me by e-mail. I prefer having all my internet/communication with guests through AirBnB.
- There is no breakfast included. If you like I can (email hidden) in your room for your groceries.
See you in Amsterdam!
Please make an appointment with me about the arrival time. Because I'm not home 24/7 and in the worst case you have to wait. And for me it's a good feeling to have everything prepared well, so don't come earlier than the check-in time or the time we agreed. And please don't let me wait for hours.
(I'm writing this down, because it happened a lot of times) :)
On airbnb most people fill in a phonenumber. Make sure that's the number on wich I can reach you. If you are not reachable; make sure you stick to the time we agreed to meet at my apartment.
Please feel at home, I will do everything to make your stay a pleasant one, but it is not a hotel.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Audrey was a fantastic host! The room was very clean, tidy and comfortable. She was there to let me in when I arrived and flexible about arrival time. On my last night she took me out to a delicious Thai restaurant near her apartment and we had great conversation. It was really nice to meet someone so lovely, well traveled and interesting! If I go back I will definitely try to stay again!
Our stay was the most unfortunate among all my visits to AirBnBs. The description wasn't clear, but we decided to go there after reading some reviews; it was an error.
When we arrived, Audrey showed us our room; I asked for towels and she seemed surprised, but she finally gave us two (all previous bnbs gave us linen and towels).
We asked about the kitchen (which is in the included services), and she told us that we could use it only if she wasn't at home. She didn't give us any hint about those hours, and we felt clearly that she didn't want to share the kitchen. Between the services were also TV (which we didn't need) and washing machine (which we did), but she didn't even mention it :-/
As we couldn't use the kitchen, we couldn't have dinner at home; we had to ask for some glasses to drin k water! There was a fridge in the room, but so noisy that wasn't useful at all (we had it turned off).
The room wasn't clean at all; the windows were specially dirty. The room was part of our "private" area, but she entered the room whenever she wanted (we weren't at home, that I give to her), and she didn't gave us a single drawer to allocate our clothes.
Whenever we entered the house, she locked in her area without saying hi, which was akward for us, feeling like we were disturbing her.
It has been unpleasant and I would never repeat nor recommend this house. This is not the AirBnb experience.
Besides, the verified (!) photos are not accurate as they show some rooms which are unavailable. I would ask AirBnb to review better the announces.
Audrey was a friendly and relaxed host! We enjoyed our stay at her flat. The flat is perfectly located. We would definitely recommend the appartement.
My daughter and her friend stayed for two days. The location was great. They felt very welcome. All communication before the trip was clear and all questions got a promptly reply. If they want to visit Amsterdam a next time, I'm sure they will choose again for this nice place. Thanks Audrey!
It was very nice to stay with Audrey. She's fun and talkative! Room was nice and clean, bed cozy. I would stay again if in Amsterdam.
I spent 3 nights at Audrey's place and immediately felt at home there! Audrey and I previously agreed on my arrival time, so she was there to welcome me. She showed great respect for my privacy and she was really discreet at all times. The apartment is small but very cozy, and the bedroom looks exactly as shown in the pictures. It was extremely easy and quick to get to Audrey's from Central Station - less than 10 minutes walk! Dam Square and the city centre are also within short walking distance. Audrey was really nice and she even allowed me to leave my luggage in the apartment past checkout time, so that I could take one last stroll in the neighborhood before going to the Airport. The street and the whole surrounding area are a delight to live in - cute bakeries, nice fashion little stores, a few interesting restaurants, and several coffee shops. It's just the perfect starting point to explore Amsterdam! If I ever go back to Amsterdam I would return to Audrey's place for sure.
