Lovely, sun-filled 1-bedroom apartment in the best neighborhood of Brooklyn — Park Slope. Very friendly brownstone building in a great, safe area with tons of amazing restaurants and shops close by. Also four blocks from every major express train!
Rent a lovely, sun-filled 1-bedroom apartment in the best neighborhood of Brooklyn — Park Slope. Very friendly brownstone building with tons of great restaurants and shops around. It is 4 blocks away from every major express train and the Long Island Rail Road: be in Manhattan in 15 minutes, or at the beach in 40! Ten minute walk from Prospect Park. Such a great location, and very safe.
Apartment has a large open kitchen with tons of counter space, a dining table that seats four, a generous living room, a small bedroom with an extremely comfortable full/double size bed, and a great bathroom with a bathtub. About 550 sqft total = 50 sq meters. It is only up one flight of stairs, plus some stairs outside leading to the front door.
High-speed wifi, flatscreen TV with Netflix and HuluPlus, two air conditioning units, and all linens provided. Fully furnished with a fully equipped kitchen. The building is old and has some quirks, but it's a very nice space, and large for the money you'll be paying. And when I say sun-filled, I mean it: Sunlight streams in from both sides of the apartment, so it's super cheerful. Past renters have all been thrilled with their experience here!
SUMMER 2015: I am looking to rent my apartment from June 1 to July 15, or as long as possible therein. I will not be accepting any rentals during that period that are shorter than 4 weeks. Nor am I accepting monthlong rentals for any other month.
JUST A NOTE: I only feel comfortable renting to folks with their profile filled out -- and a photo of themselves -- on Airbnb. Plus, at least one verification completed.
My house rules are very simple: I love my neighbors, and guests should be friendly and considerate towards them at all times. All of the guests I've hosted here so far have been wonderful people who had no problem doing so! It's a very small, congenial building. Other than that, just try not to spill anything on the carpet or put your feet up on the coffee table, and you'll do great. Oh, and no smoking inside the apartment please!
Monica's apartment was fantastic, it's located in a fantastic spot (probably the best in Brooklyn) heaps of subway lines near by, supermarket, restaurants, bars, juice shops, shopping, everything you could need!
The apartment is also so beautiful, large (especially for New York) and so well decorated!
The couch is amazing! Very comfy to sit down and watch a movie on. It was quite harsh weather when we stayed so having Netflix, Hulu plus and HBO Go was super handy on the really cold and snowy days that we needed to stay in. Also the heating was great, plenty of blankets on offer as well.
The bed is reasonably comfy, not the greatest but we got used to it pretty quick.
Monica was great to deal with, although we never met in person she was lovely!
I booked Monica's apartment for my parents over the Thanksgiving holiday. They had a great stay. Her space was really gorgeous and so well-designed (eye candy everywhere!) and the spacious eat-in kitchen was perfect for an at-home Thanksgiving dinner. Her apartment was a little bit cold at times (radiators weren't always on, and the heat is controlled centrally), but she did have a small space heater available to use.
Monica was really communicative, responding very quickly to any questions we had, and very flexible about my parents' check-in and check-out time. She also left out a bag of coffee (from Gorilla!) and granola for them, which was so considerate and much appreciated.
Would definitely recommend staying in her apartment – easy peasy to coordinate with & she's just 4 blocks from the subway and surrounded by great restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. You'll get the loveliest Brooklyn experience here.
The apartment is in a very great location. The place was as described and Monica was easy to communicate with. Had a great time!
Great neighborhood to explore Brooklyn and Manhattan, convenient to subway and shops. Really appreciated having the whole apartment with its convenient kitchen, good shower and comfortable bed. It was clean but we did find it cluttered - no space for our clothes etc, so we had to live out of our suitcase. Sorry we did not get to meet you Monica.
Thanks for your feedback Alison! Yes, the lack of storage space is definitely difficult in my one-closet apartment, especially for short stays when all my own clothes are still here, but I'll make sure to work on that for future guests — hopefully you saw that I had made some space for you in the closet, and I'll look into another storage option in the bedroom too. Glad you enjoyed your stay!
Wonderful apartment with a really nice deco ! We enjoyed every moment in this apartment. it's close to the subway (with express line to Manhattan) and it's a calm place to stay after big walking days. Monica was always available to answer our questions (by imessages or mail) and suggested us a lot of good restaurants or shopping places in Brooklyn. I would definitely stay there again without a doubt !
The reservation was canceled 36 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Monica was very lovely. I rented this apartment for my aunt and uncle for several days. Her apartment is located in an amazing prime location in Park Slope, close to all of our favorite restaurants. Her decor is super cute and the apartment is light-filled. For a 1br in Park Slope, it is quite large and the kitchen/eating area is spacious. I highly recommend Monica's apartment!
