House rules
The host doesn’t allow parties or smoking.
This newly remodeled ground-level studio is the perfect cozy retreat for solo travelers, couples, and mountain enthusiasts on a budget. Located in the heart of Government Camp, within walking distance to Ski Bowl, the Timberline Lodge shuttle pick up, and all of the bars and restaurants of downtown Govy. The house is even ski in, meaning you can take the shuttle up to Timberline, then ski down Glade Trail, straight to your front door where you can climb into your private hot tub.

The space
This listing is for the studio apartment located beneath a larger 3-bedroom main cabin. (Click on Brooke's AirBnB host profile for that listing.) The space is cozy and bright and has everything you need to feel comfortable in a small space -- your own private laundry/utility unit, lots of warm heaters, a flat screen with AppleTV that swivels so you can watch it from the living room or the bed, high speed WiFi. It also has a spacious brand new (Dec 2020) hot tub located right outside your front door.

You will have the whole studio apartment to yourself and your hot tub is yours only as upstairs guests have their own. However, the driveway in front of our house is for the upstairs guests. We rent a parking space across the street from our neighbor for studio guests, which can fit a standard car or SUV (but it doesn’t fit large trucks or very large SUVs—ask Brooke if you’re not sure.)

**Also note that you will hear footsteps from up above. If you're particularly noise sensitive, please bring earplugs for sleeping or consider other arrangements.**

We are dog-friendly but no other animals are allowed. No cats due to severe owner allergies -- sorry, no exceptions.

Other things to note
1. TO REACH US:
We are sometimes at the cabin, other times we're off-site. But if you have any problems or questions arise while you're at the cabin, please call or text Brooke or Barrett. You can also send a message to us directly in the AirBnB platform.

2. COVID:
We take Covid-19 seriously in our household and we care about the safety of you, your loved ones, and our cleaning crew. With that in mind, we're following AirBnB's 5-Step Enhanced Cleaning process, which includes airing out the space between booking, having our cleaning crew clean with masks, and disinfect high touch areas with disinfectant after they've been cleaned with soap. We also provide a roll of Clorox Bleach Wipes beneath the kitchen sink in case you would like to wipe down high touch areas again upon entry.

3. WIFI AND ENTERTAINMENT:
The cabin is equipped with high speed internet and an AppleTV so that you can stream your favorite movies and shows in your apps (using your personal logins.)

4.GETTING IN:
Check in is at 4PM and check out is 11AM. Please check with us if you need some flexibility there. We cannot guarantee it but will do our best as the booking/housekeeping calendar allows.

The front door is equipped with an electric keypad entry. Please use this to come and go from the cabin.

To unlock: Touch the keypad screen with three fingers near the "Yale" button to wake it up. Then, enter your personal 4-digit pin code followed by the check mark. You'll hear the door unlock. (Brooke will message you with your entry code no later than 24 hours before your arrival. Please note that the code is only good for the duration of your stay and will expire at 11am on the day of your departure.)

To lock the door when you exit the cabin, please touch the round "Yale" button at the top of the keypad. You'll hear the door lock. If it beeps erratically, this means the lock didn't close fully. Please gently pull the door towards you to align the lock better and try again.

5. DOGS:
We're big dog-lovers in our family and are glad you want to bring your pup to explore the mountain with you! But, for the well being of our property, neighbors, and fellow guests, we do have some rules that apply here. If you're traveling with a dog, please don't leave them in the cabin unattended unless you have a crate for them. Please pick up after your dog throughout the neighborhood (and keep our snowballs clean!) and place waste bags in our trash bin located at the end of the driveway. By booking this property with your pet, you agree that your dog: is potty trained to "go" outside, does not have a chew habit that could result in damage to the property, is not aggressive towards other dogs or humans, and does not exhibit chronic barking or whining behavior. Guests traveling with dogs that don't follow these basic pet rules above will be asked to vacate the property immediately without refund.

6. HOT TUB AND OUTDOOR AREAS:
You'll have your own hot tub, located right outside the front door. It's brand new (December 2020) and really cranks!

7. PARKING:
**Do NOT park on the street. Street parking may result in your car being towed.** The driveway can fit four standard cars. Two of those spaces -- on the LEFT side with cars parked one in front of the other -- are designated for the studio apartment. Please do NOT park on the right side of the driveway.

8. HEAT:
The cabin is equipped with several cadet heaters throughout. We find keeping the cadets between 60-70 degrees keeps the cabin toasty warm. Please help us be good stewards to the environment by turning the cadets down to 50 degrees upon exiting the studio for any extended period of time. (It heats up fast when you return!)

There is also an electric stove heater in the place. We like this for ambient light more than for the extra heat but if you want the extra heat, have at it. To power on the stove, flip the button at the bottom right underside of the stove. You can adjust light and heat output with the various buttons and nobs behind the flip tray.

9. FIRE SAFETY:
There is a fire extinguisher mounted on the wall in the kitchen.

10. KITCHEN:
The kitchen well stocked with cookware but is pretty scant (for now, as we're just starting up!) when it comes to spices and condiments. We do keep the basics -- olive oil, salt, pepper, and coffee -- stocked. Speaking of coffee, the studio has two french presses. There is no electric coffee maker or grinder available at this time.

11. TRASH:
There is a black trash can at the end of the driveway. Please add trash bags to the bin as necessary. Garbage pick up day is on Friday. Unfortunately, the trash department here does not recycle :( If you wish to recycle (three cheers!), please haul your recyclables off when you leave.

12. SMOKING:
Smoking is not allowed indoors and will result in damages. Please smoke outdoors only. An ash tray is provided to the left of your front door. Please discard all leftover smoking products in the black trash bin upon your departure.

As a host, I hope to offer you a warm welcome (even if only virtually in this time of Covid!), a clean and cozy space, and to help you make memories in our little cabin on Mount Hood.
During your stay
We may be on the property in the cabin above but in the event that we're not, we will interact with our guests via the AirBnB platform, phone, or text. Especially during COVID, we do our best to minimize interactions with guests, allowing you contactless check in, keyless electronic entry, etc. We have a local contact on the mountain who can assist in the event of immediate emergencies when we're not on site.
