This upper unit in a duplex is tucked away on a calm street, just 2 blocks from Mayo's underground subway system, 6 blocks to the Gonda Building, close to downtown, parks, in addition to the best restaurants, boutiques, and shopping. This charming 1930's home retreat is full of character with its own private entrance. (Stairs required to enter. See photos).

It has hardwood floors, exposed brick, basin sink & faucet, single burner stove top and a large newer deck with stunning sunset views.

The space
We are located in a convenient neighborhood only a couple blocks away from Downtown Rochester and also within walking distance from Mayo Clinic. This is an upper level duplex and stairs are required to enter the home (see photo). Ceilings are also sloped as a result of being an upstairs unit in an older home. Please note this when looking at photos of the listing for taller guests.

Our home offers a smart tv (couch and TV located in main bedroom), a designated work space, table for dining, and vanity to get ready in the restroom. We have some board games in the home for when you’d like to have an activity to pass the time! This is a very intentionally designed 550 sq. ft. space to ensure you have all the comforts needed while you are away from home.

We have a Pack & Play, IKEA high chair, outlet covers, and baby gates for our main bedroom as well as at the top of the patio space for families traveling with small children. The kitchen area has a single burner for cooking- as the induction stovetop is being updated at this time. Please note there is NO OVEN in this unit.

Guest access
Upstairs unit where guest will stay, as well as the downstairs back door to enter the basement for laundry (laundry is shared space). Stairs required to go to laundry area there are low ceilings.

Trash cans are located near the back walkway.

Internet download speeds of 400 Mbps with upload speeds of 20 Mbps.

We keep the home temperature at approx. 75 degrees. The thermostat is in our home and not accessible by guests. We don't mind adjusting this to be a bit warmer for guests, though we can be a bit sensitive to the cold. During summers we have a window air conditioning unit in the smaller bedroom available for the Airbnb. There are fans located in the basement area as well. We respectfully ask that guests turn this on as needed when they are home.

Most of our guests are families and patients of those visiting Mayo Clinic. We highly recommend considering vacation/travel insurance as we understand plans can change during your stay. Please consider this to allow us to keep costs down for future guests when emergencies arise and needs change. We strive to have a comfortable place to stay at an affordable cost to families.

Guests that stay past checkout without approval will have to assume full cost of cleaning having to be rescheduled (160 plus tax) as well as the current hourly rate for us to resolve with vendors and Airbnb.
