This room is made in 2 sections. One large Double room and one small room with comfortable double sofabed. The 2 rooms are connected and are in a private section of the house. Very nice for families of 4 people or even 2 couples, Or for people who want to have a beautiful romantic space.
The residence is situated in the heart of Florence, it 's just 3 blocks from the Santa Maria Novella train station and Fortezza da Basso, the centre of all events in the city. Only a few minutes walk from the famous Duomo, the Cappelle Medicee, the Accademia and Uffizi museums, and all main attractions of Florence.
The B&B was recently renovated with spacious and comfortable rooms with free WiFi, TV, bed linen and towels, heating and air conditioning. The large bathroom is shared with one other room, always very clean, equipped with all soap products, shampoo and hairdryer. It's possible to have a private external bathroom on request with an extra fee.
Breakfast(2,50 per person per day) and tourist tax(1 euro per person per night) are not included.
My wife and I spent a week at Residence Martin in late October, 2014. We interacted mostly with Nicholas who met us when we arrived (literally, at the door). After showing us the room and communal facilities, he spent a good hour answering questions about Florence, what was best to see, how to get there, his favorite restaurants, etc, all of which was extremely useful (and accurate). During the week he always took time for us when we asked, although that was not often.
The room was clean and kept that way during the week. It had what we needed and was otherwise spare. The bed was comfortable.
The street noise was significant, but we managed to sleep well anyway and I was very amused by the daily cycle of the vendors setting up and tearing down their stands. Impressive and a hard way to make a living.
Nick and Veronica are nice people and they run a nice place.
It is a great place to stay directly in the Heart of Florence.
Veronica thx a lot!

Victoria provided very detailed directions to the apartment prior to our arrival though we didn't get to meet her during our stay. We met Nycolas on our arrival and he was very amicable and helpful to offer many tips to the various attractions and dining options. The location of the apartment is really near to the station and nearby there's a huge market. Our room is really big and clean. The air conditioning is a plus though unexpectedly we got bitten by some mosquitoes during our stay. Nonetheless, we are pleased with our stay at the apartment.
Great location, easy walk from the train / bus station, and simple walk to the key sites.
Veronica was a great communicator, providing lots of directions up front, and very flexible allowing early check in. Nycolas checked us in, he was very friendly and knowledgeable, and explained with a provided map where we could visit, eat and shop. They also have a number of guide books available to help work through what you want to see in Florence.
We were pleased there was only one flight of stairs, and Nyc insisted on helping us with our bags when we left, thanks Nyc!
As stated in the description, the room was a little noisy with the market setting up and closing down each day, but ear plugs are provided and work extremely well, we had no problems with sleeping. The terrace was great for eating breakfast or a quiet beer after a hectic sight seeing day!
We stayed 6 nights at residenza Martin. Nycolas and Veronica are great hosts, very helpful and responsive, they live in a flat upstairs. On arrival, Nycolas took the time to point out some things on the map and give us some good tips (restaurants, places to go,...)
We stayed in the family suite, which was very spacious for us two, we didn't really use the second space with the sofa bed. It would be a great room to stay with 1 or 2 kids.
The room is on the street side, there's a market every day, so some noise. I had to use ear plugs but my wife just slept through it :-)
The room and the entire apartment were very clean, it's cleaned every day. There are three rooms, sharing two bathrooms, which is enough.
There is also a very practical kitchen, with everything you need to prepare a homemade breakfast or dinner. There's a great terrace next to the kitchen where you can enjoy your meal. Veronica also showed us how to make delicious cappuccino with the espresso machine :-)
The location of the apartment is perfect, close to the bus and train station and short walking distance to all important sights. We would definitely come back here!
Out of all of the private rooms we have stayed at, this was the best experience so far! They had someone clean the rooms every single day, so the whole place was always very clean. They also had air conditioning in the rooms which saved our lives because the summer heat was ridiculous in Florence at the time of our stay. It was also very quiet with a nice balcony and it was very close to the main train station and shopping area. They were very prepared for their guests, not to mention very very kind and helpful (Veronica was more than willing to help us call a taxi). Overall we would 100% recommend this place to all guests!
Nycolas welcomed us, gave a tour of the flat as described in the ad, provided a useful map of florence and gave some tips about our visit. The flat, the bathroom and the room were clean, the balcony was very enjoyable to get our breakfast in the morning (great thing was to go to the local market litteraly 2min walk away, get some good food and enjoy it on the balcony!!) The flat is indeed very convenient to reach form the train station and is also very close to the very heart of Florence.
On the con side, the only thing I have to say is the room we had was on the street side where they hosted a street market every morning (a bit noisy) so not ideal if you intend to have a late sleep. Anyway, being a real tourist, you get up early to go ahead of the queue in museums!
