Thierry's place is a little apartment attached to the jungle-facing side of his house. If you just need a home base for fun in Manuel Antonio, this little pad will treat you well. The patio is a great place for watching animal life do its thing. Within our first hour here we watched a sloth climb up a nearby tree, and we regularly heard howler monkeys conversing. Poison dart frogs are also around. Thierry is very personable and helpful too.
My wife and I stayed here and we had a wonderful time. The accommodations were clean, orderly, and delightful. The host, Thierry, is by far one of the most kind, conscientious individuals that we have met. On multiple occasions he went out of his way to do things for us that we did not even ask of him. We felt truly cared after and it made our trip to Costa Rica all the better. The accommodations were in a safe area with abundant wildlife and hiking trails. The public transportation in Costa Rica is easy to access and utilize. We would definitely recommend staying here, and we just might be back ourselves.
Wonderful experience with Thierry!!! He came to pick us up and made us feel welcomed right from the start. He told us all about where to go for adventure, food, places to see, activities to do. He was an excellent source of information. His apartment: GREAT. Perfect location, a very easy ride to Quepos. It had everything we needed. We could even take a nice walk around the property on the private paths. We saw plenty of wildlife right from the apartment, since it is practically in the jungle. We will go back here for sure, we had an amazing time! Un grand Merci pour tout Thierry! Pura Vida!
Thierry is a very attentive and welcoming host. He kindly offered to pick us up from the Quepos bus station at night and even provided some breakfast items for us. He's very knowledgeable of Quepos and gave us great tips for moving around the town. The apartment was very nice, with direct access to a balcony from which one can enjoy nature. Manuel Antonio is very close and easily accessible through the many public transport options in and around Quepos.
Our experience with Thierry began when he stopped what he was doing to pick us up in Quepos at dinnertime. He took us to some of his favorite places to select local food (which was great food!) for us to fix at "our" place.
We loved "our" Nature Lovers' studio. It was created with a very practical, user-friendly design, which was both artistic and beautiful (and comfortable!). The pictures do not capture the beauty of the place. A deck, furnished with a small table and seats, juts out into the jungle, where we sat to have coffee in the morning and to have a glass of wine in the evening with a delightful storm pouring down just beyond us.
Thierry was gracious and accommodating! He gave us some local fruit, tips on where to eat, how to get to Manuel Antonio Nat'l Park, how to travel to town and back on the collectivo taxis (much less expensive and more convenient!). He even took us to town for banking and to connect with the bus to San Jose.
We couldn't have asked for a better host, location, and lovely place to stay. It really was our favorite place this trip.
A word of caution to other travelers to Costa Rica: Your passport name and credit card name must match exactly (no nicknames or abbreviations) or you cannot get cash from the bank unless you have a pin for the ATM (which we do not need at home, and therefore, did not have). Most banks did not accept American Express, only VISA. Prepare ahead!
Stay at Nature Lovers' Quepos/Manuel Antonio with Thierry, for sure! You'll be glad you did!! We loved it and would go back, for certain, if we are ever able to return to Costa Rica in the future.
Thierry was a wonderful host. He
Picked us up in town and gave us a tour of the area and pointed out all the major landmarks. The apartment is about a 5 minute drive from town and is very easy to get to by taxi and also very affordable (500 colon per person)-- though if you catch Thierry on his way out he'll definitely give you a lift! The apartment is extremely clean and comfortable. There's lots of space to cook-- which we did often because of the wonderful market in Quepos on sat/Sunday. The back porch was my favorite aspect of it though; with a hammock and hairs to relax in and watch the monkeys right in the back yard.
The Nature Lovers house was really beautiful! Just with the forest in front of out balcony was a wonderful experience. The place was clean and we had a lot of space. There was a lot of wildlife on the property, we've seen monkeys, frogs and tucans. Thierry was willing to help with all of our questions and he is a very kind person! We would highly recommend this place if you want to visit the Manuel Antonio area
