Interaction with Guests
•I have a demanding day job which leads to erratic hours and frequent out of town trips, so I get to meet around 50% of my guests. But expect a pop in from me to at least just to say hello, or feel free to come by and say hello I live upstairs.
•I am not very hands on but love to help with restaurant and bar recommendations. I can also be convinced to have a few cocktails and have a penchant for whiskey :)
•Logan Square is an electric, eccentric mix of different ethnicities, hipsters, young families and young professionals
•The neighborhood is widely regarded as one of Chicago's most up-and-coming cool places. In 2013 it was voted 8th coolest in the country. There is something for everyone; great award winning restaurants, bars, live music, street festivals, a great historic boulevard, a great farmers market and cool local boutiques.
•Nearby attractions include Congress Theater, Fireside Bowl, Logan Square Farmers’ Market and Historic Logan Boulevard
•Close to Target and numerous supermarkets
•Chicago is very bike friendly and is becoming more so everyday. There bike share station five minutes from the apartment.
•Less than five minute walk to the CTA Blue Line California ‘EL’ Stop
•Via EL: 15-20 minutes to Downtown Chicago; 35 minutes to O’Hare; 5 minutes to Wicker Park and Bucktown
•Via Bus: 15-20 minutes to Lincoln Park and DePaul, bus is one half block away
•On Foot: Five minute walk or less to dozens of restaurants, bars and coffee shops
Other Things to Note

***Please make sure you review my guidebook where I have left detailed notes on the best places in the neighborhood. I tried to focus on places that I can personally vouch for as well as places located within a 5-20 minute walk***
•This is the perfect place to crash and relax after a long day of exploring the city, going to a festival or concert, etc. I love helping people have a good time so please let me know if you need any assistance.
•I have very few hang ups and also am not easily offended. I have never had any major issues with the cleanliness in the apartment, only minor things, however if there is anything that you feel is an issue please let me know and I will quickly have it remedied. You will not hurt my feelings, unless of course you call me names :)
•I have a relaxed cancellation policy however please let me know a week in advance if you cancel
Check out: 12:00 PM
Check in: 1:00 PM
•In the event I have back to back bookings I try to observe the posted check in / check out times. However in the event nobody is booked before or after you I'm entirely flexible. The place is generally full and booked back-to-back however.
•I get frequent requests for people to leave their luggage at my house after or before check in. I do what I can but can make no promises, and please do not be disappointed if I cannot accommodate luggage after the posted check in check out times.
•My friend Sandy helps me take care of the place when I'm busy or out of town, so you may see her around noon
•Generally no pets except small lap dogs
•Help yourself to any “consumable” that may exist anywhere in the apartment, there are usually snacks and beverages available
•Please leave the place tidy upon departure, please throw the sheets and towels in the washer if you can, and also please take out the trash. The bins are located in the parking area behind the house. This is very helpful for me as the place is booked practically nonstop and the guests do an awesome job of keeping it clean.
•I've never had major issues with cleanliness and people are happy 99% of the time (see reviews). I try as hard as I can to keep the place tidy and fresh but the place isn't the Four Seasons. Please keep the place like you found it.
•I say that the place sleeps four, however there is no pull out bed in the two small sofas. Smaller people can sleep on the sofas no problem. The bed sleeps two, and two can sleep on the floor comfortably. I have a few extra blankets and pillows, two thermarests and sleeping bag.
•I have a "day job" which can be rather demanding at times, requiring me to occasionally work unpredictably long and odd hours. There are also instances where I travel for work and you may never see me. However, the apartment is equipped with a keybox so I don't need to be around to let you in. But feel free to but don't feel the obligation to introduce yourselves. When you are here this is your place and I will be minimally bothersome.
•The place is a garden level apartment in a 1895 vintage Chicago brownstone so although funky and cool it comes with a few small compromises:
1) the ceilings are relatively low which are little over 7 feet in most places, so if you are very tall be prepared to do some ducking but no problem for 6" tall people.
2) The windows are ground level and surround by landscaping so you may see the occasional spider or house centipede, especially when the seasons change. We are not talking about scenes out of "Arachnophobia" however if you are arachnophobic, probably not your spot.
3) If you are a light sleeper the floors do creak upstairs and you may hear activity when people come in and out of the house. Also my TV upstairs can be loud when I am home, but I try to keep the volume down and if any noise disturbs you please let me know.
4) The vintage brick walls can make the house chilly in the winter, but very cool and pleasant in the summer
•Fullerton Avenue between California and Western is a little quiet and there is not much to do except for a few dive bars. The center of the action is along Milwaukee Avenue between California and Kedzie, or the Califorina Blue Line station and the Logan Square Station. There are also a few great spots on California Ave between Logan Blvd and Fullerton.

What a great spot - super convenient for Logan Square and the Blue Line, nice and toasty even during the coldest of cold snaps last week. Very comfortable - thanks so much!
Jonathan's place was easy to find. His directions superb. The neighborhood was perfect. We yelped a great coffee shop "mustache cafe" and a wonderful brewery. Even at 10 degrees Fahrenheit it was an easy walk. The parking spot was also really helpful, although it would have been quite easy to jump on the El if we didn't have a car. You should stay here.
This studio apartment was exactly as described. We really enjoyed our stay! Very close to the blue line station, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. We were a party of three and two of us were able to comfortably sleep on the bed, and one on the couch. Jonathan was also a great host who had provided very specific check-in instructions that made everything easy. He also checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. This was my first airbnb experience, and it was great!
Apartment was clean and in a great location. Quick walk to the blue line. Jonathan was a great host! Would definitely recommend.
Jonathan was extremely accommodating of my last minute trip planning. Everything was as expected when I arrived even with the short notice that I would be staying. The place was a great location if you want to explore Logan Square. It's a little off the main drag of Milwaukee, but not so far that you can't quickly walk down to Revolution Brewing, Cozy Corner, or the Boiler Room (being a little away from Milwaukee Ave also makes for less traffic noise). The room itself was great. A spacious studio that made a perfect base of operations for my work week in Chicago. If you're taller you might not get along with the low ceilings (since it's a garden). Everything was clean, organized, and easy to find via Jonathan's included instructions. All the walkways were shoveled and salted when I arrived even though there was a pretty big snowstorm rolling through, which shows the effort that Jonathan put into making sure my stay was comfortable. Lastly, he made sure to check in during the week to ensure everything was moving smoothly; another great sign of a good host.
We had a great time in Chicago. The apartment was beautiful and had everything you could have needed. It was also in a great neighborhood that was walking distance to many shops. Jonathan was a great host, we would definitely go back again. Thanks for a great experience!

A fun loving guy who loves music (all types) good times and good people. I look forward to helping you have a great time in my awesome city.
I am usually pretty busy and am a hands-off host, however I am always available by phone, text or email to answer your questions about the apartment, the neighborhood or local establishments. When I am around I will make it a priority to say hello.
