The Homely guesthouse was perfect for our needs. The hosts went out of their way to guide us around the city and help us in any way possible. They even introduced us to some key contacts for the research we were working on while in Nakuru and directed us to a great Safari agency. The staff was extremely nice, approachable and helpful, especially the two girls Michelle and Lucy who cooked for us and maintained the property. They were always a pleasure to talk to. My colleague an I were in Nakuru on business and felt right at home immediately. The guesthouse was very clean, spacious and very secure, as two girls in Kenya for the first time we felt very safe there. I would definitely recommend Homely guesthouse for a stay in Nakuru. Thank you Richard, Catherine, George, Lucy and Michelle for making us feel at home. We were sad to leave, but will hopefully make it back sometime in the future, and will definitely stay at Homely guesthouse again!
The Nakuru guesthouse was perfect for what our large group needed. The staff was flexible enough able to accommodate our changing timetable (due to weather, and traffic).
We didn't spend much time on site, but everything we wanted was present: ample parking space, comfortable beds with mosquito nets, clean facilities, etc.
If you're heading to Nakuru's game park with a large group (e.g. 5-10 people), this is an easy drive from the main gate.
Note: this is closer to some of the other gates, but you'll need a pre-filled Safari Card to enter at these other locations (which you must buy at either the main gate or through some designated sales channel such as tour operators, et al).
Kenn's place is quiet and clean with the option of having meals made by a wonderful cook named Eve. It is important however to note that there is no internet and you have to pay for drinking water.
