This was all very easy and accessible. Bill responded quickly when we had questions. Very clean, good working kitchen, nice walk/run down the road. All real swell.
Absolutely LOVED this house and the location. I cannot stress how the photos do not do the space justice - It's less than a mile from Wai'pio Valley. Perfect for tours. Perfect for sitting on the front porch and just enjoying a glass of wine. SO MANY STARS! - The house is light and airy. There are fans in almost every room (needed in this humidity) - I've rented five houses on this trip and this one was my favorite. I wish that I could have stayed longer...!
I was looking for a place last minute and Bill was kind enough to accept us and get the place ready in record time. Although we didn't have the pleasure of meeting, he was very responsive. Bamboo Hale was great! Seriously, I would come back here again in a heartbeat. Comfortable bed, nice sheets, homey and classy feel - just what we were looking for. It's the perfect place to come back to if you spend the day exploring Waipio Valley (and you should spend more than a day there!) One of the reviews already said this, but I think the pictures don't worry capture the beauty of the place. There's no phone service up that way, but the wifi was definitely strong enough for us.
Good communication, clean and nice house. There were fans in all rooms, which made a nice indoor environment. On the porch there is morning sun and a nice view over the ocean (as seen on the picture), a nice place to have your breakfast :)
My family enjoyed our stay at Bamboo Hale. The home was renovated recently and was very well done.
The beds were comfortable, the Internet worked well and the water was hot! Everyone was happy :) It sure beats staying in a hotel!
The frogs definitely made their presence known, but we loved the sound, they put us quickly to sleep every night.
Their is a grocery store in Honoka'a, it is very well stocked but, as you might expect, a bit pricey. I would be sure to hit Walmart in Hilo or Costco on the Kona side before heading out.
The house was very cute and modern with everything we needed in the kitchen. The location was convenient for seeing Waimea area or Waipio valley.
The cleanliness of the house lacked in the "attention to details" category with a rather dirty floor. It's not Bill's fault at all, but the neighbors could easily be heard even when they weren't partying late into the night as they did Friday out on their lanai (which happened to be maybe 20 feet from our bedroom window).
Overall a nice house and location. We enjoyed hearing the sounds of nature outside our window through the night.
Bamboo Hale was a wonderful surprise. It's much nicer than the photos show and in an awesome location with a beautiful view of the Pacific and practically walking distance from Waipio Valley. We were only able to stay one night--will stay longer next time!
