It's a very special place with unique and very cosy atmosphere. I wouldn't mind living there! We missed dish washing liquid and laundry detergent and found some hair. Some of the pillows had mold on them... But I give 5 stars, because the place is really nice and I'm sure that the hosts will fix these minor issues in the future. Our baby loved it, too. There is a variety of hibiscus around the house. The neighbors are very close, but they are friendly. I'd definitely stay there again.

First let me say: There is no ocean view anymore. Banana trees across the street have grown to block the view. It's still a pleasant view, but not of the ocean. The house is charming and adorable, but I still had a mixed experience. My plan was to go hiking for 4-5 hours, come back to the house, soak in the tub, sit out front and relax looking at the ocean, and then get a good night's sleep. As mentioned above, there is no ocean view anymore. The tub is a half tub, so there was no soaking in it. The windows throughout the house are glass slats that crank open and closed, which is cool until you realize they don't block any sound--the birds outside were loud and going all night. Downloading a white noise app helped. Ear plugs would have helped even more. There's also no A/C, which wasn't a problem at night but it was still around 80 degrees when I arrived. So it's a great house that's very close to the valley/hiking--it just didn't end up meeting my needs.

Perfect place to discover Waipi'o Valley and Honaka'a. The lovingly restored plantation home is beautiful, clean, tastefully decorated, and peaceful. What a treat and great value to boot. No problem recommending anyone to stay here and check in was a breeze. Perfect place for rest and relaxation.

We had an amazing time exploring the Waipio Valley and the Big Island, and this provided the perfect home base for all of our fun activities! We chose this rental in part because of the proximity to the Muliwai Trail to Waimanu Valley, which was the highlight of our trip. Bill's place was lovely, well-appointed and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the front or back lanai. Thanks for a terrific stay!
