Sitting on top of a hill, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, Villa Volpi encapsulates the essence of the Tuscan lifestyle. Beautiful gardens, romantic hideouts and sprawling views combine to create an impression of timeless beauty. The villa’s large rooms, decorated with taste, invite nature inside. The natural swimming pool is the perfect place to enjoy the refreshing luxury of water in a sustainable way. The villa can accommodate up to 18 people in single or king size beds.

The space
Originally built in the 19th century by bishop Volpi of Lucca as a private residence, the villa is at the heart of an organic agricultural estate. We produce extra virgin olive oil, red and white wine as well as fruits and vegetables that our guests can enjoy during their stay.

The beautiful rooms, with apparent wooden beams and dark terracotta ceilings, offer 360° views of the Apennines, the hills and the plain of Lucca. Recently renovated with taste down to the smallest details, they have kept the charm of the time intact. The former chapel is the perfect spot to practice yoga, Pilates and other activities.

Wide gardens surround the house and boast numerous areas for outdoor dining and relaxing, spectacular views and hidden spots between centuries-old trees. The unique swimming pool offers total privacy and beautiful views of the sunsets over the Tuscan hills.

Upon request, we can organise dinners with private chefs, yoga and Pilates classes (mats are available at the villa), massages, wine and local products tastings, walks in the hills, boat rides in the Cinque Terre and many other things.

Where you’ll be

Lucca, Toscana, Italy

The village of Ponte a Moriano, a 5-minutes' walk from the house, is typical of the Tuscan countryside with its weekly farmer's market, bars and shaded terraces serving coffees and ice cream and traditional restaurants. It also offers all kinds of services and shops such as banks, post office, pharmacy, grocery stores, tennis courts, etc. It is also an idea starting point for the numerous walks into the surrounding hills such as the one that leads to the famous Angelo convent.

The historic city centre of Lucca is only 7km away and can easily be reached with public transport, by car and by bicycle.

Well protected behind its impressive brick ramparts crowned with old plane trees, Lucca has been miraculously preserved from the passing of time and has maintained its unique medieval character. The chromatic unity of its buildings, the beauty of its Romanesque churches, the stunning Guinigi tower with its oak trees on top, the surprising Roman amphitheatre, make it one of the most attractive small cities to visit. In the surrounding countryside, wealthy merchants built majestic villas and parks that are quite unique in the world.
