For many years now, free Lunch Concerts in the Royal Concerthall (125 years in 2013) have been held every Wednesday afternoon at 12.30 p.m. in the Main Hall or the Recital Hall. The concerts vary from public rehearsals by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and concerts by conservatory ensembles, to chamber music performances by young up-and-coming artists. The programming is very broad, and offers something for everyone: listeners can enjoy a variety of early music and the classical genre, and also get acquainted with a more modern repertoire. The concert is announced one week in advance on the website. The concerts are 30 minutes long and are open to the public and free of charge. You do not need a ticket, but these concerts are very popular, so plan to arrive about a half hour before the concert to get a seat.
With the IAmsterdamcard (or transportcard) you have a free ride with bus 69 and 21 from the airport to the Westerpark.

Mieke is a really nice person, welcoming and helpful. She did a book with all things you need to do in Amsterdam, you can find also all maps in the flat.
The flat was super clean and lovely. You can find a park near the flat which is fantastic when the weather is beautiful. Our weekend in Amsterdam was perfect !!
Thanks Mieke !!
The apartment is amazing - clean and cozy, exactly what we needed. The location is great too - on the way to the city center you can trough so many canals and cozy streets - just wow!
Special thanks to Mieke - the communication was great and thanks to the information she sent us, we saved a lot of time.
Strongly recommend Mieke's apartment!
Mieke was out of town when we stayed, but her son met us and was super patient as our flight was a couple hours late getting in. He showed us around the neighborhood, and the apartment was nice, roomy and clean!
About a 10 minute walk from Jordaan. I would definately stay again!
Nous avons été très bien accueillies dans l'appartement.
L'appart est très spacieux et très agréable, et à deux pas du tram et du bus pour se rendre en 5mn dans le centre ville :)
Really nice apartment in a quiet area close to the center. The flat is huge and extremely comfortable. The area can be a bit quiet at night so if you're looking to be directly IN the party area maybe this isn't the best location for you. That being said, there is a tram stop directly outside the apartment which was really convenient. I enjoyed my stay and hope to visit again in the future!

When you come to Amsterdam and need a base to explore then choose the apartment in the Westerpark area. It is is great up there.....and Westerpark is an outgoing area for 24 hours a day.........
