Interaction with Guests
I enjoy hearing where they come from, but completely respect their right not to chat if this is what they want.
Just going out of my front door gives me pleasure as everything in this little town is harmonious and pleasing to the eye.
Good walking and cycling tracks through the lovely countryside, or along the beaches.
It is necessary to take the ferry (1 hour) either from Svendborg or Fynshav.
Buses are free and reasonably frequent.
Other Things to Note
Everybody who has been to Ærø has loved it and wanted to stay longer.
As they would in their own homes.
My parents stayed with Collette during my wedding! They loved their apartment, and enjoyed comforts of home:kitchenette, a study where my Dad could read, comfortable bed, and a great location. Us Americans are not accustomed to a lot of the showers in Europe, but they adapted. The floors in the apartment were beautiful! Collette made them feel right at home and was very accommodating. We would stay there and recommend it to anyone.
Our trip to the island of aeros was wonderful, and Collette's apartment contributed to that experience. The apartment was cozy, clean, and comfortably furnished. We were very close to the town square, took a long walk by the sea on a footpath, and relaxed in a very peaceful setting. We would definitely recommend this to others. Collette herself is warm and helpful, eager to assist with any needs, but very respectful of privacy.
Mrs Collette is a very kind host. Her cottage is delicious. There is everything you need for a warm, relaxing, quiet stay. Aeroskobing is a fairy town, and the house is central near the church, near very nice restaurants and cafe, if you don't want to cook (eat at Pà Torvet!!!). On the contrary, if you need, there is a market 5 minuts walk away. Me and my husband enjoy our stay so much!!! And I absolutely raccomand this cottage to everyone!!! Thank you again!
Collette was extremely nice and helpful. The village and island is lovey and Collette's guest is amazing. The pictures don't do it justice. It is clean, relaxing and very comfortable. We stayed for two nights and got caught out with some bad rainy weather for one of our days. But we had had a busy few previous days and it was fantastic to able to relax in such nice and comfortable accommodation.
Thanks to Collette for our lovely stay.
The house was fantastic, perhaps even better than the description. It was centrally located, in a quiet street that has small shops and restaurants along it. A cycle hire shop was literally around the corner and we were able to hire bikes within a few minutes of arriving and set off exploring the fantastic island. Cycling is easy, and we went too and from the beach to the left of the pretty little harbour a few times. We also cycled to Marstal for an Ice cream and took in some beautiful hamlets and coastline.
We certainly found enough to do during our 2 night stay, and would have loved to have stayed longer if we could have done. Aeroskobing was the busiest town on the island (still very quiet!) and was in our experience the best place to base yourself and Collette's charming little house was a great place to stay.
There is a bakery, a few supermarkets, a handful of good places to eat, including an excellent smoke house restaurant selling freshly smoked fish in the harbour. All in all, everything we needed.
Colletes lovely little cottage is centrally located to restaurants, shops and the bicycle rental right next door. It was clean and welcoming right down to the fresh flowers on the kitchen table. The quiet that was only broken by the cooing of the pigeons, the ringing of the church bells and the sound of the rain on the roof was a nice change after the hustle and bustle of Copenhagen. We enjoyed biking around this beautiful island and buying fresh buns and pastries every morning at the bakery. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone who would like a unique Danish experience.
