A room in Pasolini's house

Apartment - Private room · Via Nosadella, Bologna, Emilia-Romagna 40123, Italy

The Space

Please take two minutes of your time to read entirely the description, thank you!

If you are arriving in Bologna for holiday, for studying or for business and you are looking for a nice, convenient and quiet accomodation alternative to hotels, this place is for you.

The room is comfortable for up to three people.

The house is big and comfortable, with internet wireless broadband, washing machine (I prefer to use it in the evening as the fare is lower), refrigerator, oven, microwaves...etc. Shared bathroom and kitchen is available for you, but please ask in advance if you would like to cook.

I'm a working mother of a 17 years old boy, I like to go out, to do sports, to enjoy events in my city, to hang out with friends.
Sometimes I might have other long term guests.
My motto is "Make yourself home!". I made friends for a life with airbnb, I like to help guests in anything they need, and to hang out with them, if they like as well and if I have time.

I must say in advance that my house is an old one and not perfect, I periodically plan to renovate and modernize some parts of it by myself, which of course requires time and money. Actually I am planning the renovation of painting on walls, so please be comprehensive if I still have to do it when you come.

Even if an old one, I am very affectionated to this apartment, which was the house of a great and famous poet, writer and film director during his teenage in mid forties - Pier Paolo Pasolini, for the ones who know him.

Please also take note that this (email hidden)d house!
We are very open, warm and helpful people, check in is available at any time (with a welcoming tea or coffee :), you will have your own keys and no deposit is asked for staying here, we trust in people! But please understand that sometimes I don't have the time to put everything in the perfect order. Staying at my place is a genuine italian family experience. If you are looking for a warm, friendly and welcoming place, this could be the right place for you. If, instead, you are looking for a perfect and aseptic place, a hotel room could work better :)

The apartment is situated in a old and typical bolognese palazzo, very close to Piazza Malpighi, which is a crucial public transportation square.
But probably, you will never need to take a bus to do sightseeing :)
In the very nearby you have Via Saragozza which is the 666 arches longest portico of the world, leading you to Santuario di San Luca; San Francesco Church with the Glossatori Tombs; the Collegio di Spagna with his beautiful portale; and Via del Pratello, famous street with a lot of bars, pubs and nightlife. The principal Bologna square, Piazza Maggiore, and all the main monuments are in a range of 10-15 minutes walking distance - Bologna historical center inside the walls is 35 minutes from wall to wall. You will be in the heart of the city!

I provide a great map in english, teas and coffees, many tips about places to see and restaurants to go eating traditional bolognese food, and a lot of kindness :-)

The price includes linens and towels, if needed you can use the hair dryer and the ironing board.

After booking you will receive all my instructions about reaching my place from airport or from central station.

Bologna is:
-half an hour from Florence* and Modena
-one hour from Milan*
-one hour and a half from Venice*, Ravenna and Rimini
-two hours and a quarter to Siena
-two hours and a half from Rome*
-four hours from Cinque Terre
-three hours from Napoli*.....

You will be in the heart of Italy!

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Eleonora is a wonderful host, offering maps, suggestions, directions, and even taking me along for aperitivo with a couple of her friends!

The place is in a good location, the room spacious, the bed comfortable, the wifi consistent. It's nothing fancy, but it's perfect for the price.

  • Eleanora is a friendly host who provided us with excellent and detailed information for our short stay in Bologna. Thank you!

  • Eleonora was an amazing host. Super nice and very friendly. She knows Bologna well and gave us very good recommendations. The flat was well equipped and had everything we needed for our short stay. We'll stay there again. Recommended. :)

  • I was welcomed by another guest as Eleonora was absent during my stay. I have a mixed review.
Positive points, include location close to the centre, the other guests were warm and welcoming, use of kitchen facilities and Eleonora keeping in touch via txt even when abroad which was sweet. Things that are not obvious from the description and maybe to note generally when staying in Bologna.
    1. It can get really really warm, for two reasons limited air flow being in the centre and my stay coincided with a heat wave. NB. A fan was provided.
2.The sound of traffic/delivery people at 3/4am does disturb sleep, this can be fixed if you have one of the inner facing room.
    3. The water system requires new plumbing, especially obvious in hot weather.
Overall , combined with the other reviews I think if Eleonora is there to host these points are trivial as she sounds like a fantastic and welcoming host. I am just sorry I did not get the chance to meet her.

  • I really enjoyed my stay with Eleonora, a wonderful host who accepted a last minute request and a very late arrival! She even picked me up from the airport shuttle bus station and made sure I knew how to get around. The location is fantastic, within the city centre, and the room was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend Eleonora's apartment!

  • Eleonora was by far the best host I have ever visited. Her house was lovely and she was beyond helpful with places to go and things to see. I would definitely come back and I suggest you take the first offer at this beautiful and perfect location!!!!! I cant wait to go back and stay at this cozy place.

  • Eleonora was very kind, helpful and friendly! She gave us everything we needed (linens, towels, cookware... she even lent us her pc for days!) and was always willing to help and advise. We spent a lot of time with her and the other tenants (a japanese girl and a brazilian boy, so it was an interesting cultural exchange!) but we also had all the privacy we needed. The flat is in an excellent position, you can reach the center in a few minutes walk and it is also well connected by bus. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this apartment! P.s. If you go there, remember to leave a typical recipe of your country in her international cookbook ;)

  • We had such a lovely stay at Eleonora's place! We enjoy it a lot. Our host was very helpful and we get to know many interesting things about Bologna. The location was also great. We felt like home. It was perfect.

I am an actress, I love food, wine, beer (as you can see from my profile photo) and mankind! I really like to travel as well as my lovely guests, and everytime I meet someone new through airbnb, I smile and I travel a little with them, dreaming about close or far destinations. If I have time, it's a pleasure for me to hang out with the people I host; if not, anyway I do my best for them making themselves home, having a good time and making the most in this amazing city where I live that is Bologna. My house is not perfect, and I am not perfect, also! But I strongly believe in human beings, and it's such an interesting thing to get in contact with people raised in different cultures. If you would like to "taste" a "slice" of italian way of life, as well as of pizza, I´ll be happy to host you in my place! :-)
