Lots of light, no clutter. One bedroom apartment on the sixth floor (no elevator) under the roof of a building built in 1890. View of Parisian rooftops. Very lively and cosmopolitan neighborhood. Lots of gourmet shops, cool bistros and loads of amazing French restaurants (Bistro Paul Bert, Le Chardenoux, Le Vieux Chêne, L'Ébauchoir) between Bastille and Père Lachaise Cemetary, and a great bakery right across the street (La Patisserie by Cyril Lignac.) If you want the best (award-winning) morning pastries in the neighborhood I have another address for you. There is a great farmers' market—Marché d'Aligre—a few blocks away, the only Parisian farmers' market opened 6 days/week, with two organic produce food vendors. The Marché d'Aligre is comprised of a mini flea market and a covered market full of food vendors (poultry shops, butcher shops, cheesemongers, fishmongers, Italian deli... )
For those who like fashion there is a trendy area a few minutes away by foot.

I adored this apartment. It was clean, comfortable and roomy (for Paris) - an oasis amongst the rooftops. It's on a great street - the local patisserie is amazing, and I had a very lovely classic bistro meal at Le Chardenoux, which is nearby. There is also a choice of supermarkets and bars in the area. It feels like real residential Paris here, not tourist Paris. I didn't meet Imelda in person but she was an attentive host - she made sure I got in ok, that I managed to get the wifi set up, and she also offered 'foodie' tips while I was staying. I highly recommend this apartment (though people who find stairs a problem should be warned that it is on the 6th floor).
We traveled to Paris on the last leg of our honeymoon and loved staying at Imelda and Francesca's 6th floor apartment. We were nicely welcomed by Imelda who is very attentive, accommodating, and goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect (We didn't have any cellphone service, so Imelda helped us out and called for a taxi to the airport. :)). Check-in was easy. She took some extra time to give us some info on amazing food recommendations, a local farmers market to stock up on fresh produce and cheese, and showed us on a map where exactly each place was. She is also very easy to get a hold of (we primarily used airbnb inbox).
The apartment is exactly what you see in the photos. Adorable, cute, clean, and lovely. The views from both balconies are picturesque and the late morning sounds of people talking and cars going by made me feel like I was at home. :)
We felt very comfortable staying at the apartment, we wish we didn't have to leave. Overall, our experience was amazing, and would definitely come back.
Thank you again for going above and beyond!
Imelda and Francesca's apartment is simply perfect! When we booked the apartment we were looking for something homely, in a nice neighbourhood but didn't want to be too far from the city and sights. Well this is exactly that! It was spacious, comfortable and well equipped for our stay. Rue Paul Bert and it's surrounding streets have plenty of bistros and restaurants to eat and have an aperitif at. The boulangerie across the road was fantastic, their window display was mouth watering! There are a few metro stations close by to the apartment making it easy to get around, although we usually walked to Place de la Bastille each morning which was about 10-15 minutes by foot. From there, Place des Vosges is only a short stroll also and there is a metro station here.
We ate at some amazing places and Imelda can provide a heap of good recommendations also. Ble Sucre for their croissants was devine, Pure Cafe for an appertif made us feel like locals, and L'Ebauchoir for dinner was perfection.
I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our 5 nights here - highly recommend!
My stay at Imelda and Francesca's stunning apartment in Bastille was sensational. The apartment was well appointed with an attention to detail. I would recommend the location to anyone who is looking for an authentic parisian experience away from the tourist trail. The 6 floor walk up was an excellent way to work off the culinary delights this area has to offer.
We had a fantastic time in this lovely apartment at the beginning of May. It couldn't have been better and the organisation with Imelda was top. I would strongly recommend this place and would defo come again - the view is just awesome and there are so many nice restaurants etc. In the neighbourhood!
Imelda and Francesca's home was beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring an awesome Parisian neighborhood. Imelda was great to communicate with -- very quick to respond and very helpful. I'd stay there again in a minute!
Fantastic apartment in a great neighbourhood of Paris. A real gem. I look forward to my next visit.
If I had to use one word to describe this apartment it would be Perfect. We spent 6 days here and it was all we needed. The apartment is ideally sized and spacious. If you are familiar with apartments in Paris (and Europe in general) hot water and heat can sometimes be an issue, but it was perfect here. The master bed is a great size and there's alot of space to put your clothing, etc. It's in a very quiet and happening neighborhood at the same time. Very close to 3 metro stations with Gare De Lyon being the largest stop within walking distance. I would recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to Paris. You should defenitely stay here!
Lovely, cosy, clean, charming, well equipped.
Over the rooftops of Paris. It dosen´t get any better than this.
