About this listing

The space

Lots of light, no clutter. One bedroom apartment on the sixth floor (no elevator) under the roof of a building built in 1890. View of Parisian rooftops. Very lively and cosmopolitan neighborhood. Lots of gourmet shops, cool bistros and loads of amazing French restaurants (Bistro Paul Bert, Le Chardenoux, Le Vieux Chêne, L'Ébauchoir) between Bastille and Père Lachaise Cemetary, and a great bakery right across the street (La Patisserie by Cyril Lignac.) If you want the best (award-winning) morning pastries in the neighborhood I have another address for you. There is a great farmers' market—Marché d'Aligre—a few blocks away, the only Parisian farmers' market opened 6 days/week, with two organic produce food vendors. The Marché d'Aligre is comprised of a mini flea market and a covered market full of food vendors (poultry shops, butcher shops, cheesemongers, fishmongers, Italian deli... )
For those who like fashion there is a trendy area a few minutes away by foot.

Warm in the winter with on-demand radiators, and cool in the summer with the windows open and the East-West breeze blowing through the house.

Wifi/use of iMac.
Free unlimited calls to LANDLINES (not cell phones) in the USA.

Fully equipped kitchen:
Coffee-maker, toaster, kettle, De Dietrich gas stove with an electric oven, dishwasher, full-sized fridge.

Full bathroom with a washer and a dryer; towels are provided.
Full-sized bed and a sofa.
Bed linens are provided.

Close to metro lines 1, 8 & 9.
Nearest metro stations: Faidherbe-Chaligny (line 8) and Charonne (line 9), and a few more blocks away: Reuilly-Diderot (line 1)—which is direct to the Marais, the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, the Louvre museum, the Jardin des Tuileries and the Jeu de Paume museum, the Grand Palais and Petit Palais museums, and the Champs-Elysées.
Line 8 is direct to the Marais and the Opéra, and line 9 to the Grands Magasins (Paris' old department stores), the Trocadéro, the Musée d'Art Modern and Palais de Tokyo.
Bus 86: a beautiful ride that will take you to Bastille, Nôtre-Dame, the Latin quarter and Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
The Marais is also a 20/30min walk away.

Check-in time is 12pm(noon) but can be earlier. Check-out time is 11am, or later if the place isn't booked the next day. If there is a check-out and a check-in on the same day, people checking out must leave by 10am and people arriving can check in after 3pm.

The apartment is situated so well in a neighborhood that has everything!! So many cafes within walking distance, the best bakery of all the ones we tried in Paris is across the street and easy access to the Metro to visit the more touristy sites. Notes: - No AC (for travelers used to that) - The stairs are a hike to the 6th floor but totally doable if you're able -There is a lot of street noise at night, but so is the life in France The place is minimalistic, clean, feels super Parisian- makes you feel like a local rather than a tourist. ️️️️️

This apartment is the best way to have a great Parisian experience ! In a lovely building, it is cosy, clean, large, and very bright. Imagine that every morning I woke up, and went down to Cyril Lignac's boulangerie, literally across the street (he is a famous chef in France) to bring us back the best croissants , pains au chocolat and brioches ! This a very safe neighbourhood, many bobo families live there, it is full of great restaurants. You have several metro stations a few minutes walking away. And again, this 6th floor apartment, really feels like a true Parisian experience !communication was super easy, and the place was spotless clean ! So go ahead, You won't regret it!!

A beautiful minimalist aerie floating above a lively neighborhood. We loved throwing open the windows and letting the late night sun and breeze in (especially welcome in the heat wave we arrived in!). The kitchen is well-equipped (coffee, and everything you would need to cook a meal), the bathroom is bright and airy, and the living room is the perfect place to unwind with cheese and wine. The bedroom is on the street side of the apartment, so if you have the windows open on a warm night you'll hear clinking glasses and the murmur of conversation from the restaurants below, along with the occasional zip of a motorcycle--the charming backdrop of Paris to us, but maybe not for the sound-sensitive. For the food-inclined, there's crackling pain au chocolat on the corner, natural wines for sale down the street, and just-stinky-enough cheeses two steps away. Traditional bistros (Paul Bert, etc.) and trendy new restaurants (Septime, Clamato, Louie Louie) abound. Smooth key pickup, and easy communication with Imelda and Francesca--clearly natural hosts. If you're looking for a stylish home base in the 11th, this is it.

This apartment is an oasis in the city - on the top floor in a street that comes alive with fantastic restaurants in the evening. I stayed for several weeks and fell in love with the neighborhood. Great bakeries, a grocery store across the street, cafes, easy access to the metro and bus system, and a fun residential neighborhood full of families. The full kitchen was a real bonus, as was having the space to stretch out in the living room. Imelda and Francesca were very responsive to questions, and ready to help. I will definitely stay here again the next time I can!

Charming flat in a great part of Paris. Loved cooking in the well equipped kitchen. Huge apartment for Paris, even nicer than photos. Great restaurants and bakery right outside your door plus wine and cheese shops and everything else you need for a fantastic stay. Great spot.

The apartment was so clean and peaceful, and the rooftop views are lovely. I also enjoyed so many of the places Imelda & Francesca recommended in the neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Paris!

We are a Franco-American couple of women with a five-year-old living in Paris who sublet out our apartment occasionally when we visit the rest of the family.
