About this listing
Thanks for the intrest in my listing.
I have a 2-bedroom house near West Portal. It has a private yard, with fruit trees (apples, some lemons, cherries and plums depending on the season), and outdoor lounge furniture to enjoy the outdoors. It has a spacious living room with a 42'' screen television and wireless internet throughout the house and garden. Spacious kitchen. Parking spot available in driveway. Easy access to airport.
The house was built in 1922, so there are still old Victorian touches to it. It is cozy, clean and modern, with original woodwork, windows, and some detailing from the 20s. All hardwood floors throughout the house. Fully heated with plenty of parking.
The room also has a large walk-in closet and plenty of drawers to fit all of your clothing and supplies. There is also a desk/vanity with mirror, and an additional glass table which can be used as a desk/vanity. Please note the door to the bedroom does not lock inside or outside. We have fixed the door now so that it closes shut each time. But you cannot lock it.
Ocean Beach and the Zoo in San Francisco are very close. A block and a half from Stern Grove. Tennis courts and parks within walking distance. Close to Golden Gate Park. One block from Muni (L-line and 28 bus). A few block from surf beach (Sloat). Also I am very close to the Stonestown Galleria, which is a great mall for shopping. If you take a 10 min walk you can get to West Portal and all the local shops and restaurants. I highly recommend Sub-Center, because it has some of the best Submarines in SF.
There is a cleaning service that comes once a month to clean the entire house, and is included in the monthly rent, if you choose to book for that period of time. There is also a high quality washer and dryer on the first floor (in the garage), along with a drying rack if you choose to air dry clothing.
There is also a gardener who comes every other week to keep the garden and grass nice for your enjoyment.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Keep common areas clean and tidy.
We stayed 6 nights at Sunset House having the north bedroom at end of hall. Really comfy bed and amazingly quiet neighborhood. All the rooms are big and bright and clean. Nice to have the spacious dining room and back yard to relax. Unfortunately we were not able to use the laundry machines but there are Laundromats on Tarraval. Make sure you get an email of the house manual before you arrive, items to check are how to retrieve a key and how the shower works. My wish list would be use of laundry room and a coffee maker (there is a bodum). We did not meet Jess but were able to call her. We had a wonderful time in San Francisco, Sunset House is excellent value and I would stay again.
Sunset house was in a great location if you don't want to be directly in the heart of the city. You could pick up the train about a block away or walk ~15-20 min to the train hub where there is a street with restaurants and stores. There's a trader Joe's about 1.5 miles away and a nice park a couple blocks away. If you're a runner, your best shot is to drive about 1.5 miles to the ocean where there is a flat path, if you don't want to be running up and down the steep hills. Short drive from the airport but you could take the bart if you wanted. We could park in the driveway. Check-in time was a little confusing, the site said 2 but she told us 3 shortly before we were arriving. Everything was clean but the trashcan was full when we arrived. She also told us a couple days before we arrived that some previous visitors had broken things so we had to bring our own hairdryer and she said she locked off a couple areas, but we did not have locks on our own rooms. The back of the toilet seat was also broken when we got there, but she didn't know that and asked us if we broke it when we saw her for the first time on the last day of our stay.
The house was close to public transport and easy to get down town. It was great to have a parking spot. Close to a supermarket and plenty of places to eat around the area. Jess wasn't at home while I was there but she was easy to get hold of and responded to all my emails. Instructions throughout the house and everything is easy to find.
La casa está bien. El barrio accesible a transporte público y buena zona. El único inconveniente, fue tener la mayoría de los días de nuestra estancia el salón ocupado por inquilinos y no poder relajarnos allí tras finalizar el día.
Even if there were many guests staying in the house while we were there, we had a very quiet and pleasant stay. The super easy access to Muni line L allowed us to leave our car at the house and enjoy SF by foot. We decided to extend our stay and Jess was really helpful.
We had a great time staying at Sunset House, and had fun getting to know our roommates. Jess made sure that we had all of the information we needed and that our time was trouble-free. The surrounding neighborhood was quiet with families all around. There were plenty of nearby places to pick up amenities or grab a quick bite to eat. The MUNI stop was close and gave us access to all of San Francisco. We would definitely stay again!
It was my first time booking via Airbnb. I was booking for my grandparents. My grandparents enjoyed their stay at Jesse's. They said the old building reminds them of the old house they had long time ago. My granddad enjoyed cooking his own dinner in the kitchen. It has almost everything he needed. Obviously some of the utilities need some maintenance. The light in the bedroom doesn't turn on. Jesse had to bring a lamp from the other room. Jesse is a helpful host and tried to solve problems the best she could. Overall a very satisfying experience staying here. Will definitely stay there again.
