Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
The Blue Pearl is calling. 1946 coastal cottage nestled just above basalt rocks offers you a relaxing place to take in the sites and sounds of the crashing waves. Located next to the 804 walking coastal trail and also the Amanda trail leading to the Amanda Grotto and Cape Pepetua. Cottage is located on the south end of Yachats and a short distance to sandy the sandy beach at Yachats Bay.

The space
Cozy and eclectic property that has been a vacation rental for 40 years. Located just outside Yachats city limits but close enough for a 15 min. walk to downtown. A foot path leads down to the rocks and tide pools below the cottage. The cottage is a shared space with guests having their own private entrance and use of first and 2nd floors of the cottage along with outside patio and deck areas for their own .

Guest access
Guest have private use of living room, dinning area and full kitchen on the main floor. Upstairs is also for guest use only with a seating area, queen size bed and bath. ( shower is a bit tight for tall people!). Caretaker Tim will also be living on the property during your stay , but you will have exclusive use of the main part of the cottage with your own entrance.

Other things to note
For rainy days,,,Cummins Creek trail is a great trail to get out into the coastal range and away from crowds. This trailhead is located 4 miles south of Yachats Oregon, and is less than a mile from Thor’s Well. The trail is a 5.9 mile loop, with some steep sections of the trail being rated as difficult.

Neighborhood highlights

We are just outside Yachats city limits on the 804 trail where it crosses hwy 101 to join the trail up to Cape Peptua. And we are a short drive/walk to downtown Yachats, where you can also utilize the 804 trail as it wanders along the ocean front to town.
There are whales during migration time, seals, sea otters, and lots of birds to enjoy viewing. A large part of the property is covered with a protective "overlay" of old growth coastal trees. We ask that quests do not climb up and down the hill from the cabin to the ocean as this is dangerous and degrades the vegetation holding the soil. Also once down on the rocks its easy to get in trouble with sneaker waves and once down, stuck with no way back up, so be careful!
