Guest Access

There is a secure car park at the rear of the apartment. We have cots and a high chair for babies,a babysitter, an Ipad with 3g to get you round Dublin, dublin bike cards and helmets (free bike scheme with a bike stand nearly outside the door). There is a private balcony at the back of the apartment for smokers. This is self contained so guests have access to all parts of the apartment.

Interaction with Guests

We meet and greet our guests, and as we live upstairs and work round the corner, are pretty accessible to people. We normally try to say goodbye to people and check that their stay has been pleasant. If people are staying for a while, we pop in from time to time to make sure everything is ok.

The Neighborhood

We love our area, and are active members of the Mountjoy Square Society. Set in the midst of the North Georgian Core of Dublin, Mountjoy Square is full of history. It even features in Joyce;s work. Mountjoy square is a vibrant, inner city, well populated area with lots of nationalities and lots of young people. The chinese quarter with its great restaurants and atmosphere is just three minutes walk away. We would not live anywhere else!!

  • We had a great stay at Ann and Bernadette's apartment. It is beautiful, sunny and spacious with a large and well-stocked kitchen. Our teenage son slept on the sofa bed in the living room, which had doors, so it was like he had his own room. Mountjoy Square is very pretty and we also enjoyed the park in the middle. Ann left us milk, OJ, eggs and homemade Irish bread, plus granola. Walking distance to central Dublin as promised, but sometimes we took a cab. a nice stay!

  • Ann and Bernadette were wonderful hosts. The apartment was beautiful and very well located. We felt very welcomed and looked after from the moment we arrived. There was no shortage of information regarding the apartment and the city. Ann was full of suggestions on where to take in the sights and sounds, and the soda bread and muesli were a wonderful treat. We can't wait to return. Oh, and they have an amazingly comfortable bed. Cheers!

  • Ann and Bernadette's apartment is absolutely beautiful and comes fully equipped with everything you need.

The welcome is warm and friendly and guests are made to feel at home as soon as stepping over the threshold.

Great central location too and easy to walk to the City centre.

Cannot recommend this apartment, or the hosts, enough.

    10 out of 10!

  • We had a Mum's Only weekend away and stayed in Bernadette and Ann's apartment. We couldn't fault it! The welcome pack of bread, jams, eggs and milk was perfect. It is situated in a good locating, close to the city centre with out being too close. The apartment is bright and airy, and there was more than enough space for the 5 of us. Thank you so much for opening your wonderful apartment to us.

  • Excellent! Very nice apartment, walking distance from the centre. They welcomed us with delicious homemade bread and jam, a very good way to start our weekend in Dublin.

    March 2014
  • The apartment was exactly as presented. Ann and Bernadette were able to accommodate our early arrival which was very appreciated since we had been flying all night. The location is very convenient to the city centre, restaurants and pubs. Ann and Bernadette had left information on the area to get us started and we had a great time. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware/utensils and a lot of basic needs so eating breakfast at the apartment was convenient. We would highly recommend staying at Ann and Bernadette's Georgian apartment.

  • Ann and Bernadette gave a warm welcome to me after I arrived in Dublin with massive delays. The flat was exactly as described. As I came over to get some writing work done, I particularly loved the sunny table in the kitchen and the comfy couch in the living room.

Ann is a New Zealander who has lived in Europe for over 30 years and in Ireland for 15 years. She is a Company Director, a HR Specialist and a Qualified Nurse. Bernadette is Irish and has lived in London and in Dublin. She is also a company director as well as being a qualified Social Worker. We love good food eaten out , or in, and drinking good wine. We enjoy entertaining and socialising and we enjoy the arts. We have two great grown up sons - one in London and one in New Zealand. We have been a couple for more than 30 years, and Civil Partners for 3 years. We have a lovely dog too. We enjoy meeting new people,we also enjoy travelling. We know Dublin very well and like to share our beautiful city with with visitors. We love opera, choral music, and Irish folk music too. And we are passionate about Georgian Architecture and in particular about Mountjoy Square, Dublin's finest Georgian Square and the only absolutely square square in Europe!! This is why we restored this amazing apartment to its original splendour. We live here ourselves during the winter time, but in the Summer we like to move to our country home so our apartment is free to be enjoyed by the air bnb community. We look forward to welcoming you to this very special home.
