WELCOME to our cozy cabin tucked into the Oquirrh Mountains. The cabin has easy year-round access, sleeps up to ten, and is filled with the intrigue of a western mining town plus the comforts of modern amenities.

The space includes a stocked kitchen, video games, DVDs, board/card games, and a popcorn maker. It's the ideal retreat for families, artists, and adventurers.

There is no cell service in the canyon, but we have high-speed Starlink WiFi at the cabin.

The space
There’s one closed-door bedroom downstairs with a queen bed that sleeps two. The loft upstairs has two queen beds, a day-bed / futon that can sleep two, and a queen air mattress - allowing ten people to sleep in the cabin. We also have a pack-and-play available. (Note, there’s only one bathroom so if you’re bringing a large group, prepare to take turns. There should be plenty of hot water.)

For the adventurous in heart, the historic stove in the living room is ready and fully functional. If you don’t know how to use it, let us know and we can provide instructions. In the backyard, you’ll find the wall of Flat Top Mountain immediately scaling up in front of you. This property is extremely close to 5-mile pass, BLM lands, and is a big destination for hiking, hunting, snowmobiling, snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing, camping, biking, and more!

The town of Ophir is an undiscovered gem for most people. They've reconstructed many of the old buildings that would have been present during the gold boom. It is a quiet town and there are some full-time residents, so please be respectful to the speed limits and try to not be too noisy. Also, no open fires or fireworks of any kind. Ophir is a high risk area for fires.

Where you’ll be

Ophir, Utah, United States

The quaint town of Ophir has been restored to its former glory, and we strongly encourage you to walk the length of the town to explore the historic mine shafts (closed to entry) and buildings that remain. It takes around 30 minutes to make the loop. Plus on Saturdays in the Summer, there is a reconstructed school, a post office, a shoe shop, and several houses you can tour!

Just fifteen minutes away is the 5 Mile Pass, BLM land that thousands of people use for off-roading, snowmobiling, mountain biking, and hiking. So bring the toy hauler, there’s plenty of space to park it at the cabin.
