An excellent flat in an excellent location. It is perfect for two couples as the rooms each have a bathroom and there is plenty of space in the main room. As it is on a corner, you have a wrap around balcony with lots of windows for light and air.
The location and property were as described. Clean, simply but nicely decorated. Comfortable beds and well appointed kitchen. The steps are quite narrow and there is no lift so be aware if you have difficulty maneuvering same. Remember it is in the middle of Barcelona so it can be quite noisy. The smaller room with no window was very quiet but the room nearest the street was more of a challenge for sleeping. There are wooden shutters on the inside of the french doors so we closed them at night and it helped the noise factor. Be also aware that toiletries, soap for washing machine, etc. are NOT provided. The bath towel in the second bathroom was missing but was brought over when brought to the attention of the owner. Did not meet Rosa but Aleesa was friendly and very helpful with info and directions to the major sights.
The apartment is in a great location in the Gothic area, and is within walking distance of many awesome places. The apartment building itself is right next to an old Roman wall, and there is a sign just outside the entrance that describes the fortification. The apartment was very clean inside, and the sliding wooden doors opened up to a small plaza that filled with people. During the day, it was like being in an apartment in NYC (noise-wise), but at night it quieted down.
The apartment pictures need to be updated since the apartment has less furniture than depicted. The couch has been updated to an L-Shape that pulls out into a double bed. The two bedrooms have the bathrooms contained, so whoever gets the living room, must go through the bedrooms to get to the bathrooms. Also, the electric dryer is in a separate room that you have to access through the first bedroom. All amenities are accurate. There are plenty of "Super Merkats" in the area, so we bought whatever else we needed. Make sure to buy extra toilet paper since they only provide one roll per bathroom. The balconies were awesome, but were not swept so if you stepped out barefoot, you'd come back with blackfoot. Also, the apartment is actually on the third floor, and the elevator starts on the second floor. Even then, the elevator only takes you up about 10 feet to the apartment, so it's kind of useless for this particular apartment.
All in all, it is a great place to establish a base to tour the city. You can rent a bike and easily take your own tour of the city.
We came a bit early and were able to check in to the apartment. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable. The location was the high point right in the middle of the Gothic quarter and close to La Rambla and the cathedral.
There were a couple of minor things that could have made the experience more seamless. They dont provide any shampoos, soap etc which was a surprise. There was only one roll of toilet paper for 4 people staying in the room for 3 nights although luckily we found the guy who helped us check in the next day to get more.
Rosa was a very nice host. She met us at the apartment with extra towels etc. The apartment isn't as shown in the pictures but has all the basic facilities we needed and roomy enough for 4 people with laundry facilities and air conditioning.
Location was in a good location, right across the road from Jaume 1 metro but due to the location was very noisy at night until early hours of the morning.
The lights and internet went down but was fixed in the same day we called.
Rosa allowed us to leave our bags in the apartment until late the day of our check out to accommodate a late flight.
We had a great time in the apartment. Great location, clean, secure!
This apartment is incredible, located right at the Jaume I metro stop. It is right in the middle of the Gothic quarter and Born area which is my favorite part of the city. The beach at Barcelonetta was less than 20 minute walked, but you could also easily take the metro from Jaume I one stop over to cut that walking distance in half. La Rambla was also very easy to walk to. The main room of the apartment is HUGE and had a separate dining table with 4 chairs and a sectional couch and TV. My favorite part of the apartment was that there was a wrap-around terrace with 3 entrances to it off the main room and 1 more from one of the bedrooms. The terrace overlooked the intersection right at the Jaume I metro stop so it was amazing to sit out there and watch the people go by. The kitchen was decent sized and newly remodeled which was nice. Both bedrooms were great size, with a queen bed in each and large wardrobes for putting clothes away. Each bedroom had it's own full bathroom which was great. The bedroom with the private entrance to the wrap-around terrace had a larger bathroom than the other bedroom. Just note that I do not believe anyone actually lives there full time. It felt very hotel like, but had all the essentials you need and was perfect for the 4 person group I was there with and much better than staying at an actual hotel. I would say the only two negatives about the apartment was that the second bedroom had no windows to the outside at all so it could get kind of stuffy and very dark when you turned off the lights at night and also we could not figure out how to make the A/C's actually cool down the rooms. They turned on and we even tried setting them to 17 degrees celsius but they never seemed to actually cool down the room. Just kind of blew cool air around. But it wasn't awful. Rosa was also very accommodating and very easy to work with. She even offered to let one of my travel guests leave her suitcases there earlier than the check-in time because her flight got in early. We will definitely try to stay at this apartment every time we visit Barcelona.
