About this listing
Small, cosy, quiet, bright apartment in the most popular and welcoming area in the centre of the city: the Oltrarno. A big bed on a loft and plenty of information and tips about Florence. The queen of the house is Paloma, the cat.
Ciao. I’m Leila. I live with my cat, Paloma, in a nice (very nice, really) apartment in the heart of Florence: the Oltrarno, a popular and welcoming area in the centre of the city.
My apartment in small, cosy, quiet, bright. There is a living room, a dining room, the kitchen, a bathroom (with shower), a little terrace and a sleeping loft with a double bed, which I rent out.
The loft has its own window and, although it is not actually a separate room (there is no door), you can see from the pictures that it’s isolated from the rest of the house.
Please, ask me if I can host 1 or 2 persons, because that can change depending on the time, my job….
During your stay you can use: washing-machine, wi-fi, kitchen, fridge, radio, cd-player, iron, hairdryer…..and make the most of my knowledge about Florence (I wrote a guide-book of this city, so I know my way!).
Interaction with Guests
While you are here I will sleep on the sofa-bed in the living room.
I'm almost never at home!
But I'm always available for information, tips and for a glass of wine togheter!
I love my neighbourhood (Santo Spirito, Oltrarno)! And so will you!
All the main museums are within walking distance. Some of them (Santo Spirito, Carmine, Boboli Gardens) are just 5 min away.
A lot of shops are just around the corner, as well as mini-markets, restaurants, bars.,, and the most beautiful and fun square of Florence!
The bus stop is 5 min walking, train station 15 min, airport 20 min with a cab.
You will have your own keys.
Buy your food (mainly because I don’t have any, except for the coffee). Use the kitchen whenever you want, and clean after.
My wi-fi connession is always available.
Bathroom rules: there is always hot water. I provide all the towels (as well as the bed sheets) and the hair dryer. But no shampoo, soap, creams….
You can use the washing machine (wisely!). I provide the soap.
There is no air conditioning.
No shoes on the loft!
Recycle, don't waste water, swich off the lights.....
Paloma is friendly. She may leave some white hair on your clothes. Sorry!
She might also decide to sleep with you. So, if you don’t like cats, maybe my house is not the right place for you.
Enjoy the house and the city!!
Leila and her cat Paloma were the most welcoming hosts I've had the pleasure to stay with through Airbnb. Leila came home from work to welcome me and then in the evening took me out for a spectacular aperotivo along the river followed by dinner at a real local Santo Spirito restaurant. A great first evening in Florence. Leila also writes guidebooks for tourism in Tuscany and was full of great ideas for places to visit and things to do. The bed in the loft was comfortable and private and the apartment cosy. A great location, quiet, but not far from the historic center and close to fabulous restaurants. Would definitely recommend for a visit to Florence.
Leila was fantastic! She took me out to meet some of her friends on her Vespa! Leila gave me a map and showed me where I needed to go for the museums I had booked. She also booked a taxi for me when I needed to head to the airport. Her apartment is fun and her cat Paloma is lovely. I would definitely recommend this accommodation and I appreciate everything Leila did for me :-)
Leila was a super nice host, very easy to get on with. I did not see her that much as she was working a lot but I could stay with the lovely cat, I hope to stay there again
Leila was the perfect host. For a busy woman running her own company at the start of a busy wedding season, she took me out for a drink on the first night and dinner with friends.
As soon as I got in we went through everything in the apartment and then she sat me down and asked about my itinerary and offered suggestions and have me a map for help.
The apartment is as described. It was lovely, a nice room upstairs, lovely place where you can use everything, and Paloma is a sweetie!
The neighbourhood is perfect and minutes away from everything. Literally a couple of minutes from the river and bridges with fantastic views.
Leila was the perfect host and she has the perfect apartment to stay in, along with a fan studio knowledge and guidance of Florence.
First Air Bnb and it was great! Truly recommend it!
Leila was lovely and welcoming, giving me an excellent map and advice on where to eat. Unfortunately Leila wasn't able to be at home much, she works insane hours, but I was always welcomed home by Palma which was lovely. Having access to the kitchen and entire flat was great in some ways but could be a little lonely. Being able to do washing was amazing and Leila didn't mind my intimates hanging off chairs. The stairs were quite steep (as she had mentioned) so would be no good for any mobility problems, and it is a very open apartment so privacy may be an option for some people. The thing I found most challenging was the lack of fans, I found it very hot in the loft in early June, especially coupled with the stupid Florence mosquitoes (I don't think you can run away from them though!). I wish you the best Leila and Paloma xo
Leila is a great host. The apartment is comfortable and well located.
Beautiful memories of my stay ! Thank you Leila ! Baci !
About the Host, Leila
Non so cucinare. Non ho la macchina. Non ho la televisione.
I love: listening to music, travelling, dancing, driving around the city riding my Vespa 125 Primavera, laughing with friends, reading, buying flowers, the bridges of Florence, writing, the sea, coffee, surprising myself.
I can't cook. I don't own a car. I don't own a TV.
