Small, cosy, quiet, bright apartment in the most popular and welcoming area in the centre of the city: the Oltrarno. A big bed on a loft and plenty of information and tips about Florence. The queen of the house is Paloma, the cat.
Ciao. I’m Leila. I live with my cat, Paloma, in a nice (very nice, really) apartment in the heart of Florence: the Oltrarno, a popular and welcoming area in the centre of the city.
My apartment in small, cosy, quiet, bright. There is a living room, a dining room, the kitchen, a bathroom (with shower), a little terrace and a sleeping loft with a double bed, which I rent out.
The loft has its own window and, although it is not actually a separate room (there is no door), you can see from the pictures that it’s isolated from the rest of the house.
Please, ask me if I can host 1 or 2 persons, because that can change depending on the time, my job….
During your stay you can use: washing-machine, wi-fi, kitchen, fridge, radio, cd-player, iron, hairdryer…..and make the most of my knowledge about Florence (I have written a guide-book of this city, so I know my way!).
While you are here I will sleep on the sofa-bed in the living room.
I'm almost never at home!
But I'm always available for information, tips and for a glass of wine togheter!
I love my neighbourhood (Santo Spirito, Oltrarno)! And so will you!
All the main museums are within walking distance. Some of them (Santo Spirito, Carmine, Boboli Gardens) are just 5 min away.
A lot of shops are just around the corner, as well as mini-markets, restaurants, bars.,, and the most beautiful and fun square of Florence!
The bus stop is 5 min walking, train station 15 min, airport 20 min with a cab.

Leila was a great host. She has a good communication and very helpful. She was very good at giving recommendations on where to go in Florence and even beyond. Our next destination was Tuscany and she gave me a very good suggestions. In fact, she writes for travel website on Florence and Tuscany.
Apt was located at a perfect spot in Florence, I loved the area more than the center area because it was close enough to all the attractions but it had more local neighborhood feeling than being too touristic. If you wanna feel iike a local, this apt is perfect for you.
I had a wonderful time in Firenze in large part to this wonderful apartment and host! Leila was really relaxed, and welcoming. She gave great recommendations, spoke perfect English and was just fun to be around.
I had the most amazing week in Florence and it wouldn't have been half the experience without Leila and Paloma! Leila, you have the most gorgeous apartment - for a country girl I felt incredibly at home:) and you were right, it's worth being on the top floor for the light alone! Leila made the time to meet me at her apartment when I arrived and gave me maps and guidebooks (that she had written!) to use while I was staying with her, plus so many "local" tips on the best bars, restaurants, shops, galleries, buildings - the Vecchio Building's Secret Passages tour is AWESOME, the Bambini gardens so lovely and quiet compared to Boboli and the views of the city and surrounding landscape from Fort Belvedere are fantastic - all things I would've maybe stumbled over on my own but most likely missed. Leila is completely honest when she says she doesn't cook because she's just too darn busy working! I was far too busy exploring Florence to cook but I knew I could use the kitchen at any time if I wanted to:) And being able to use a washing machine and hang clothes out on a real clothes line was like heaven - who would've thought I'd get so excited about something so domestic?! Paloma is the most delightful cat with a quirky little personality! We had fun hanging out together when I just wanted some down time from sightseeing. All-in-all Leila's write up about herself and her home are spot-on so read away and know that is exactly what to expect! And finally thank you Leila for introducing me to your friends and a local's life in Florence, that was probably the best experience of all:) You are the best host and I'm hoping my family and I will see you in New Zealand sometime in the future for a taste of some Kiwi Hospitality! All the best, Nadine x
Leila is a great host, a sweet person who is helpful and sharing. The apartment is at a walking distance from everything, and there are the nicest places to go out at night for food and drink just around the corner. I recommend stayng at Leylas house, as long as you like cats. Beautiful Paloma is always around for company.
Thank you Leïla for your warm welcoming!
She waited for me late at night after having given me many advices on how to get from the airport to her place and still had time to tell me about the good spots in Florence, off the touristic paths...
Plus the appartment is quiet and very charming.
Great place, great host! Don't miss it!
Staying with Leila was only my 2nd airbnb experience, but it will be hard to beat! Where to start? The flat is airy and charming - the pictures don't capture how high the ceilings are and how spacious it feels. My boyfriend and I stayed in her loft for two nights, and I alone for two nights after, and we had plenty of privacy. The Oltrarno location is perfect. Just far enough off the beaten bath, but close enough to the river for the city center to be an easy walk.
Leila is a perfect host: welcoming and funny, like an old friend you haven't seen in a while. I highly suggest taking as many of her suggestions as you can. We stayed with her after doing the big tourist spots (museums, Duomo), and she pointed us to landmarks with incredible views (Forte di Belvedere!), walks along the old medieval city walls, and great restaurants and bars where locals go as well as visitors. The more you talk to Leila about Florence, the more you will discover its riches of culture. There is more to do than the main spots you read about!
If you're coming to Florence with a spirit of adventure and curiosity, this is where you need to stay.
Stayed 2 nights with Leila. Great apartment central location, close to everything you need, boutiques, shoe shops, cafes, galleries, river/bridges. Leila is very sweet and was very accommodating to me at last minute. I didn't get to spend much time with her as I'd liked, but there is always next time!
Leila is a great host! She gave us useful suggestions to explore Florence. We felt comfortable to stay in her lovely apartment. The location is quite good: a nice and safe area from where you can walk to most touristic spots. Highly recommend!
Wonderful experience in Florence's true heart. Leila is the guide everybody could dream of and a very nice person. The flat is charming, just behind piazza santo spirito, full of peculiar bars and far enough from the most turistic areas, , just like living the real life of a florence citizen! Books everywhere and the discrete presence of paloma, a sweet sweet cat, make you really feel like home. Thanks Leila, hope to see u sono again ☺
