Description

Our beautiful cedar clad eco home is situated in the rugged countryside only 2 miles from Westport. The house boasts of large, sunlit rooms and ample space alongside unsurpassed views of Croagh Patrick and the open moorland beyond the house.

A beautiful cedar clad newly built four bedroom house is available with stunning views of Crough Patrick and the Partry Hills in West Mayo.

The house has four lovely light filled bedrooms, three of which come with comfortable double beds and one with a single bed (there is also a travel cot and fold out single futon bed in the living room), a bright and spacious modern kitchen, dinning area, cosy sitting room with fireplace, library and two modern bathrooms (one with solar hot water and one with electric hot water), there is also a large double bath in one of the bathrooms. There is decking to the south of the house with beautiful views (accessed via the french doors in the dining room).

There is also a laundry room with drying racks and an outdoor line. The dining room has a wood fired rayburn stove and there is also a small wood stove in the living room.

It benefits from breath taking views of rugged, unspoilt and undeveloped countryside and is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

The house is located not far from the heritage town of Westport. The picturesque town is known as one of Irelands best kept towns and is one of its major tourist destinations. The town boasts plenty of great restaurants and traditional Irish pubs with live music, a cinema, swimming pool, supermarkets, shops, etc. There is also a Zoo and small theme park at Westport House.

Within driving distance from here you will find many beautiful safe sandy beaches on the North and south shores of Clew Bay, many of which have been accredited with a blue flag award. You will also find the famous mountain of Croagh Patrick located nearby.

The house is just an hours drive to Galway and Knock International Airport. There is no better place to stay when exploring Irelands magical west coast line.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

The guests have access to the whole house and the surrounding grounds.

Our lovely neighbour Trish looks after the house and will be the one who visits guests after their arrival. She will be there to answer any questions guests may have about the house and amenities and activities in the local area.

House Rules
No smoking
Not suitable for pets
No parties or events

'House Rules' sound a little stern, rather we would request that all guests consider the following during their stay in our lovely eco home:

As an eco house we ask all guests to strive to be as environmentally responsible as possible during their stay. This includes cleaning and sorting any recyclable rubbish guests may generate (appropriate bins and guidelines are provided), making sure lights and heating are turned off when not required.

We have a 'shoes off' policy whilst in the house and we have provided an assortment of slippers for those who want them.

We ask guests to strip the bedding (not the mattress and pillow protectors unless necessary) and leave them along with used towels next to the washing machine before checking out. This is very helpful for our lovely neighbour who cleans and readies the house for the next guests and is much appreciated.

Most of all we ask guests to kick back, relax and enjoy the house, its unsurpassed views and its wild surroundings and have a blast.

Beautiful home in an even more beautiful spot. Drinking a celebratory wine on the deck watching the sunset behind Croagh Patrick, which had just climbed, was spectacular. Trish was very helpful with check-in.

Had an amazing stay in Malachy's home over the St. Patrick's holiday weekend. We wanted to escape the madness in Dublin to have a quieter, more relaxing weekend; the house couldn't have been more ideal. It's bright, spacious and very comfortable. It's as private and remote as it gets, and yet Westport town is only a few minutes down the road by car. Trish was great and very responsive for checking in and out, answering questions etc. Thanks for everything, we hope to visit again sometime!

Really beautiful eco house nestled in beautiful, scenic Mayo. Has a lovely stay here with my parents and sister. Perfect base from which to explore the beautiful beaches and to rest yourself before having a go at Croagh Patrick and an even nicer, cosier place to recover after. Highly recommend for a relaxing country hideaway.

Malachy, Dewi And Family User ProfileMalachy, Dewi And Family is a superhost.

Dewi and I are brothers who look after the running of the house on AirBnB. We look after the running for our mum, Debbie.

Mum had the house built as a family home. She planned to live here when it was finished but as most of her children ended up in the UK she decided to live closer to her children and grandsons in Pembrokeshire, Wales. She is so happy that she can share her beautiful home with amazing guests from all over the world and we are all humbled at the positive responses to the house and the area we've had from our guests.

The house was built by our lovely neighbours Willy and Gerard. They are brothers who specialise in wooden frame, environmentally sustainable construction and great friends of ours.

Trish, Willy's wife and one of mums closest friends is our amazing host and she's organises the house for guests and pops in to introduce herself and answer any questions and provides great suggestions on the local area. She lives just a couple of minutes walk away in another beautiful wooden house and is the star of the AirBnB experience. She is amazed at how great and considerate all our wonderful guests have been and she's made many friends along the way.
