The Space

A beautiful cedar clad newly built four bedroom house is available with stunning views of Crough Patrick and the Partry Hills in West Mayo.

The house has four lovely light filled bedrooms, three of which come with comfortable double beds and one with a single bed (there is also a travel cot and fold out single futon bed in the living room), a bright and spacious modern kitchen, dinning area, cosy sitting room with fireplace, library and two modern bathrooms (one with solar hot water and one with electric hot water), there is also a large double bath in one of the bathrooms. There is decking to the south of the house with beautiful views (accessed via the french doors in the dining room).

There is also a laundry room with drying racks and an outdoor line. The dining room has a wood fired rayburn stove and there is also a small wood stove in the living room.

It benefits from breath taking views of rugged, unspoilt and undeveloped countryside and is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

The house is located not far from the heritage town of Westport. The picturesque town is known as one of Irelands best kept towns and is one of its major tourist destinations. The town boasts plenty of great restaurants and traditional Irish pubs with live music, a cinema, swimming pool, supermarkets, shops, etc. There is also a Zoo and small theme park at Westport House.

Within driving distance from here you will find many beautiful safe sandy beaches on the North and south shores of Clew Bay, many of which have been accredited with a blue flag award. You will also find the famous mountain of Croagh Patrick located nearby.

The house is just an hours drive to Galway and Knock International Airport. There is no better place to stay when exploring Irelands magical west coast line.

  • This house has just beautiful views, and is literally a few minutes' drive from Westport, a small town that we really enjoyed. This large house was the perfect spot for our family of five to use as a base for exploring the Connemara area. We cooked in for almost all of our meals in the large open kitchen, and really enjoyed the views from there.

  • We stayed 7 days at Dewi's house, and it is truly an amazing place to discover Mayo and the Conemara - away from the crowds.
This is a very comfortable house, with beautiful panoramic views, very close to town yet isolated as one would want it to be.
It is always very warm and cozy inside, even when it is cold and raining cats and dogs outside.
Trish is a fantastic host and will make you feel welcome.
This is one of these places where the hardest is to leave...

  • First time using Airbnb and it was a good 'un! Dewi was excellent host, all communications were prompt and concise, made our first experience using Airbnb a pleasure, thanks Dewi. Thanks Airbnb for making a family reunion planning so easy. For once we got proper beds for all our kids!

On arrival we were all excited driving down the country road from Westport village (which is a beautiful historic town all dressed up for St. Pats), it only took 10mins and we were in deep countryside. The house nestles on side of a hill with extroardinary views of Croagh Patrick. The Eco lodge was wonderful and inviting. Trish had left some bread and milk for us so we could have a light snack before exploring. The kids loved the house and there was a mad dash for picking bedrooms. Lots of space, wonderfully warm and inviting, and a treasure which we enjoyed for our short stay in Westport. The quietness, and panaromic views really got us in touch with the relaxation and serenity of the place. On our second day we climbed Croagh Patrick and toured the village. Some of our family were staying in a hotel in the town and complained of noise and crowds. Not us, we had a fabulous time with no noisey guests. Trish is wonderful and a pleasure to meet with. After a busy day mountaineering and swimming we arrived back to the house to find it wonderfuly warm and cosy, if not toasty! The eco insulation and clever systems keep the house wonderfully warm on cold days when we were there. It put our own house to shame and we have come home with some ideas to adopt. Thanks for a great stay, and hopefully we can repeat a visit in the near future.

  • Our stay in Dewi's house was just splendid. The house is a perfect example of harmonious symbiosis with nature and is fully equipped, including classic type oven and central heating. Trish, the neighbor, welcomed us warmly and gave us recommendations for our hike to Croagh Patrick, one of Ireland's most impressive destinations. We definitely recommend staying here, the memories we made in this place will stay forever. Thanks for everything.

  • We had the good fortune to stay at this amazing house over new year! It was brilliant! We were greeted by the lovely Trish who went out of her way to make us feel at home; bringing with her lovely self some good cheer and most excellent soda cake! The house is set in beautiful surroundings with a vista that even the miserable weather could not spoil. The house has everything you need for an relaxing and enjoyable stay and even though it was a little off beaten track the instructions we were given meant there was no bother finding the place. It is a great base to explore the nearby Croaigh Patrick and Westport town. We went into the town for the night and it was great craic, with it fully living up to its name for great Irish music! We were given good instructions for the taxi back and so even in our merry state we made it home. A really great place and we would wholeheartedly recommend this. We will definitely be back again.

  • Dewi's house was a joy to stay in. The location is perfect; a beautiful rural setting but within a few minutes' drive of the bustling town of Westport and spectacular coastal scenery. We stayed there to take advantage of the Greenway (42kms of cycle track that connects Westport to Achill Island). The ideal location for cycling enthusiasts or walkers. The house itself is spacious but very comfortable and cosy. Trish checked us in and ensured we had everything we needed for a great stay. Top marks!

  • We had an amazing stay at this wonderful house. It is large and modern and has all you need. There is lots of information on how to use the facilities and about what is nearby. The directions we received were perfect and after a few minutes down a tiny lane, we found this amazing place! I would really recommend this to anyone who wants peace and quiet whilst only .being 5 minutes drive from Westport (we timed it). Dewi was also a pleasure and helped with all requests.
