Interaction with Guests
Our lovely neighbour Trish looks after the house and will be the one who visits guests after their arrival. She will be there to answer any questions guests may have about the house and amenities and activities in the local area.
'House Rules' sound a little stern, rather we would request that all guests consider the following during their stay in our lovely eco home:
As an eco house we ask all guests to strive to be as environmentally responsible as possible during their stay. This includes cleaning and sorting any recyclable rubbish guests may generate (appropriate bins and guidelines are provided), making sure lights and heating are turned off when not required.
We have a 'shoes off' policy whilst in the house and we have provided an assortment of slippers for those who want them.
We ask guests to strip the bedding (not the mattress and pillow protectors unless necessary) and leave them along with used towels next to the washing machine before checking out. This is very helpful for our lovely neighbour who cleans and readies the house for the next guests and is much appreciated.
Most of all we ask guests to kick back, relax and enjoy the house, its unsurpassed views and its wild surroundings and have a blast.
Myself and my husband are just back from a weekend stay at this beautiful Eco home. We fell in love with the place straight away. The host was so lovely and had fresh flowers, bread, milk, fruit and eggs laid out and even called by to make sure we were ok and was super friendly.
The loction of the house was perfect for us. It was a 5 min drive to Westport town max. We had the best weekend and climbed Croagh Patrick and cycled the Greenway. We loved the house so much that we cancelled dinner plans so we could just chill out and enjoy it.
We are definitely going to come back and I would recommend this house to all.
Just back from an action packed couple of days in Westport. Your home provided an ideal location for access to everything but in a peaceful setting so we had somewhere to chill out when we got back! The house was everything we could have hoped for, not easy to please 4 teenage girls but they didn't even notice no wifi because they had life instead!!
They are still buzzing about it today!
Thank you ..... we'll be back
Aidan & the 4!
My family and I took a trip to Ireland to visit there area where our family originated. There were 7 of us and we all fit perfectly in Dewi's mother's beautiful home. Everyone had their own space and we loved the gorgeous light, abundant windows, and cozy atmosphere. Trish greeted us on the night of our arrival and there was warm bread waiting for us and fresh wildflowers. Our first morning we watched dramatic rain showers interspersed with periods of sun and multiple rainbows, very magical. The house is beautifully designed and we loved staying there. Thanks Dewi and Trish for sharing a very special home with our family. Also, Westport is very close by and was a great town to explore with many excellent restaurants. There are also a ton of fun adventurous activities to do in the surrounding area. I would highly recommend the house and the area of Ireland.
Hello Cathryn, I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay! Many thanks for the lovely review, it was an absolute pleasure to host you and Trish really enjoyed meeting you all. Do let us know if you are ever back in the area and all the best to you and the family.
Dewi gave excellent directions to the house so it was easy to find. Trish, a neighbor, called around soon after we arrived to see if we needed any information on the area. The house is only a few minutes drive from Westport so it is very handy to pick up groceries or visit the local sights. Local taxis are convenient and inexpensive. The house was warm, comfortable and well-equipped - we were able to have a roast dinner and bake a cake! There was plenty of space for our group of seven. There are well-placed notes around the house with guidance for bins, stove, heating, lights etc, so it's easy to settle in and find your way around. There are nice views of the surrounding countryside and it is very peaceful.
Dewi's home is better than described. Surrounded by Irish hills full of sheep, Croagh Patrick in the background, peaceful, tranquil and beautiful. Her home is cozy, warm and light-filled. Just a 5 minute drive from Westport, it was the perfect location. The house was perfectly clean and had fresh flowers and bread on the table when we arrived. Amazing experience, highly recommended!
Amazing! Absolutely fantastic! Such a great country, such a nice house, such lovely people!
The house is well located, close to Westport - a beautiful small town with everything you need - and away of the crowds. Just the way you would dream of. Beautiful landscape, very peaceful. It's the perfect base to explore Mayo and Connermara.
The house is very spacious and bright (sun from the morning to the evening) and has every facility you need. The kitchen is very well equipped. Heinz loved making meals in the kitchen with view of Croagh Patrick!
Very easy communication with Dewi, great flexibility regarding check-in and -out. You get just the right amount of information you need, at the right time!
Trish's warm welcome made our stay very special. It was great to chat with her, get insider tips and learn about Irland. Thanks so much for everything, especially the last evening spent with you and Willie!
We highly recommend the house. Staying there is more than just having an holiday.
Thanks for everything.
About the Host, Malachy, Dewi And Family
Dewi and I are brothers who look after the running of the house on AirBnB. We look after the running for our mum, Debbie.
Mum had the house built as a family home. She planned to live here when it was finished but as most of her children ended up in the UK she decided to live closer to her children and grandsons in Pembrokeshire, Wales. She is so happy that she can share her beautiful home with amazing guests from all over the world and we are all humbled at the positive responses to the house and the area we've had from our guests.
The house was built by our lovely neighbours Willy and Gerard. They are brothers who specialise in wooden frame, environmentally sustainable construction and great friends of ours.
Trish, Willy's wife and one of mums closest friends is our amazing host and she's organises the house for guests and pops in to introduce herself and answer any questions and provides great suggestions on the local area. She lives just a couple of minutes walk away in another beautiful wooden house and is the star of the AirBnB experience. She is amazed at how great and considerate all our wonderful guests have been and she's made many friends along the way.
