We've just spent a tad under $1 million transforming our whole-floor apartment into a magnificent, luxurious and sumptuous home and the benefits are now all yours to enjoy.
The bar and restaurant of the CYCA (home of the Sydney-Hobart yacht race) is two minutes' walk down the hill.
"Harbourview" is in the heart of Darling Point - two minutes walk to the harbour side parks, yacht clubs, buses, trains and ferries and just ten minutes to the heart of the city. The apartment takes up the entire top floor of a 1920s mansion, yet (because the rest of the house is lower than the road), the entrance to the apartment is level with the street: just 5 metres from the off-street car parking and you're straight into the apartment's own front door.
You'll enter (using your electronic swipe card) into an art-gallery of a hallway which draws you straight through to the open plan kitchen, dining room, sun-deck and living room - all with magnificent views across the harbour.
The kitchen's perfect for entertaining: it's equipped with two massive fridges, European appliances, vegetable steamer, Billi hot and chilled water tap, two ovens, pantry, and, of course, microwave, dishwasher and gas cook top. One push of a button and a glass wall magically disappears opening the whole kitchen/dining area onto the sun deck area: comfortably shaded in summer, and beautifully sun-drenched in winter.
The living room's star attraction is the built-in Bang & Olufsen system including a monumental 65" plasma cinema screen, powerful B&O amplifiers, media-distribution system and sub-woofer.
The master bedroom is connected to the living room by a sliding wall: with the wall open you feel as though you're in the most enormous bedroom imaginable; with the wall slid shut you're in your own private sanctuary complete with a sumptuous walk-in wardrobe with oodles of drawers and hanging space, and a travertine bathroom to die for. Underfloor heating, a wonderfully comfortable "egg-shaped" bath, twin basins and a rain-forest shower - what more could you want?
The second bedroom also has a sumptuous ensuite bathroom (complete with a Miele laundry and rain-forest shower) but it also boasts a very handy kitchenette just in case the kitchen feels as though it's too far away!
The third bedroom has a double bed plus plenty of drawer storage and a smart desk.
Outside there's off-street parking for two cars. Needless to say, there's reverse-cycle air-conditioning throughout the house and, in winter, a really cosy gas fire in the living room heats the whole place. Included is free high-speed wifi and free phone calls within Australia.
Darling Point is truly one of the best places to live in Sydney: so close to the city, equally close to Bondi, and in just two minutes you're in Rushcutter's park with the coffee shops and yacht clubs. 500m away is Edgecliff Centre with the bus and train terminus, supermarkets and shopping centre. And then within a ten minute walk you have the restaurants and night life of Potts Point, or the shops and cafes of Paddington.

Darling Point is one of Sydney's most exclusive suburbs - just the minutes from the city in one direction and ten minutes to Bondi Beach in the other - and yet it's beautifully quiet, overlooks a wonderful park and is just a few minutes walk to the harbour shore and yacht clubs.
There are ample shops, supermarket etc within easy walking distance just up the road, and cafes, bars and restaurants just round the corner.
There are buses a couple of hundred metres away, and a train station 500 metres away.
We'd love you to stay in our apartment but experience has unfortunately taught us to make guests aware of the following:
The apartment is a family home in a building occupied by two other families. The apartment is also fitted with high quality fittings and furnishings. As a consequence we are unable to allow parties to be held in the apartment, or gatherings of more than 15 people at any time. Any such gathering will be immediate cause for revoking the rental agreement. Please also avoid making excessive noise which could affect the neighbours.
Please do not smoke inside the apartment (you're welcome, of course, to smoke out on the balcony).
No pets are permitted.
