Enjoy a meal together at our large dining table, relax with a glass of wine on our scenic patio, and then have a sunset soak in the hot tub surrounded by mountain vistas.
Upon arriving at Katydid Hospitality's Italian Villa in the Smokies, you are greeted by a scenic mountain view, traditional European Leyland cypresses, and the feel of stepping into another country! Open the 8 ft rounded front door and step into 12 ft ceilings with cathedral peaks.
Once entering the home, you are welcomed into a large living space. The living room area features a TV with Direct TV and DVD player (no streaming services), wood burning fireplace and comfortable seating. Firewood and started logs are available at Ingles, the closest grocery store, to use in the indoor fireplace and outdoor patio fire pit.
To the right of the living room is a large dining area with full kitchen with of all essentials needed for your stay - stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, Keurig, drip coffee maker, and more! There is not an ice maker, but Ingles (a grocery store less than 10 minutes away) has ice! The table seats 8, so plenty of space to spread out for a fabulous meal!
Next, the home boasts oversized chairs in front of arched windows overlooking the mountains! Perfect for a cup of coffee or a great book.
In the far corner of the living area, sits a table perfect for games. Scrabble, chess... a closet full of games awaits your arrival.
Off the living area is a full bath with a standing shower and stackable washer and dryer.
Enter the master bedroom through antique, arched church doors to a king bed, private bath and private exit to the patio.
Enter the second bedroom off the living area to two queen beds and arched windows with mountain views.
Once at the back of the home, you will find a traditional European patio complete with a hot tub. Enjoy the view at the patio table, which seats six, with umbrella for shade on sunny days. Strike up a fire in our fire pit to enjoy the evening! Firewood and started logs are available at Ingles, the closest grocery store, to use in the indoor fireplace and outdoor patio fire pit.
Dogs are welcome with preapproval at our home for a small one time fee. We do reserve the right to increase this fee if more than one pet is staying in our home.
WiFi is not the best in this area. We do provide the best service offered in the area, but it does not always perform well. Guests have used personal MiFi’s with better results.
Katydid Hospitality LLC provides authentic southern hospitality, whether traveling for work or pleasure, and our Italian Villa in the Smokies is a must for your time spent in The Great Smoky Mountains.
A paved road to a long gravel driveway leads you to our Italian Villa. Four-wheel drive is not necessary, but it is a mountain road. Parking is to the left of the home and can accommodate three vehicles. There are two switchbacks before you get to the house - the first may require a two point turn if you are traveling in a large vehicle. You do not need four-wheel-drive/all wheel drive unless it snows. We do not recommend motorcycles or low riding sports cars. Our parking, however, is flat and there are only two steps leading into the house.
