This renovated guest apartment comes with private entrance, private bathroom with shower, hardwood floors, a spacious bedroom with a queen sized bed and a separate private living area with French doors that open to an organic vegetable garden. The "living" area has a full sized sleeper sofa, a refrigerator, a coffee maker, a toaster oven, and some basic cooking stuff so you can make simple meals. (It's not a full kitchen, however.) Enjoy the sunshine from your private deck with a view of the fountain and garden, which by the way also comes equipped with two super cute dogs (both mutts, 60 lbs and 35 lbs). Fast free wifi, easy parking, and the most convenient neighborhood in Los Angeles.
"Kitchen" area will be stocked with coffee, tea, bottled water, and some staples. If you're into the "green" thing, there's a compost pile, recycling bins, organic veggies, and a clothes line available for use. I do work out of my home so I ask that guests be quiet and respectful when utilizing the shared outdoor spaces.
This is typically very guest-driven -- some guests like to keep to themselves and can enjoy the privacy of a totally separate living space. Other guests are more mingly--I love meeting my guests but try to follow their lead in this regard. Beware though that the dogs may insist upon belly rubs and admiration.
Quiet neighborhood but close to all the LA sights! Beverly Hills, Santa Monica Beach, LACMA Museum, Culver City, Century City, Downtown and the new EXPO transit line. Minutes from the best shopping and dining LA has to offer.
Neighborhood is very walkable -- walking distance to restaurants, stores, groceries, etc., as well as a number of synagogues and kosher restaurants.
In terms of proximity to other locations, I am 2.2 miles from the touristy part of Beverly Hills, 2.5 miles to West Hollywood, about 6.5 miles to the touristy part of Hollywood, and about 8 miles to downtown Santa Monica, Venice Beach (west), and the LA Convention Center (east). I am about 2 miles to the closest light rail station, and a few blocks' walk to bus stops along Robertson, Pico, and La Cienega. Public transit in LA is not great and for the most part you do need to drive everywhere, unfortunately. Please let me know if you have specific areas in mind and would like to know where I am in relationship to the places you would like to visit while in LA.
Price shown by airbnb includes the City of Los Angeles Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT). Although collecting it as a separate line item is the way hotels do it, guests have found it to be too confusing so it is now included in the rate.

We spent 4 nights at Varlie`s guest house and had a pleasant stay.The place is really spacious and central! We would reccomend it to everyone.
We spent a very good time at Valerie's place. The apartment that she rent is really lovely, clean and comfy for 4 people. Valerie was always here to help us and gave us some good advices on what to visit in LA. Despite the little issue with the lock door, Valerie managed to fixe it so quickly ! We've also enjoyed her two cute little dogs who were fond of getting belly rubs, ah ah. Many thx again Valerie ! ;)
The guest house is really lovely and spacious, the terrace enabled us to enjoy the sun!
The place was as cute as it appears in the pictures. Nice atmosphere. Large bedroom. Comfortable. We were running day and night, so we did not spend lots of time hanging out at the place. Lucy and Maxwell, her dogs, always greeted us and they were lovely. Beautiful neighborhood. Lots of towels, shampoo and conditioner, water in the fridge, extra blankets. We were surprised by the tax, but it does mention it in the listing, so be sure to figure that into your total budget. Valerie was pleasant and we enjoyed our stay.
Within minutes to Cedar Sinai, it was a sweet oasis for 3 adults one night, and two adults the next. Privacy was important to us and it worked out fine. The price is oh so right! Overlooking the lovely garden was a bonus. And Valerie offered roses-to-go. But the kicker for us was the warm, respectful welcome from both Valerie and her pooches. Heartily recommend. This was our first experience with airbnb and won't be the last.
Me and my son stayed with Valerie for 2 weeks. Valerie was very helpful with everything. The dogs very friendly so that my son very quickly lost his fears.
We both can warmly recommend this place to anybody how does not need a full-featured kitchen. (See the pictures of the living area)
valerie's place was in fact exactly as it is listed, charming and central! my work takes me all over town and i never had issues getting anywhere in more than 20 or so minutes at any time of day- it was utterly convenient! whilst at "home" working i felt very comfortable and had the perfect balance of privacy and affection from her two adorable loving dogs who always greeted me "home" good morning and good night with wagging tails and good cheer.
i will for sure be a repeat visitor to valerie's wonderful home.

We had a pleasant stay at Valerie's place. Everything was clean and orderly. Valerie warned us that street parking was not allowed, and let us park in her driveway. The garden is being remodelled and looks as if it will be very nice.
To be honest, we did not spend much time in the home, as we had a lot to do in LA, so I cannot comment on how that would have been.
Valerie charged us a room tax, which I assume is a local regulation. It would help if all these extra taxes and charges which seem to be quite common among AirBnB places were included in the up front price. This is not just for Valerie, but all other hosts as well.
First the good. Valerie is a pleasant, polite ,easy to work with hostess. The guest house is very quiet and there were no distractions. We watched hummingbirds work the flowers in the backyard and her dogs were so very friendly and the only time they barked was Halloween night. The rooms were clean, nice and airy . The shower is large and plenty of hot water. There was plenty of closet space.
Now the "wish it was nicer" list. The guesthouse is actually an attachment to the main house, with a door that adjoins the two.The bathroom has sheers on the windows and when it's dark and the lights are on you feel exposed. The bed is quite noisy and there is limited dresser space. The "kitchen" area is very limited as to what you can prepare. The hot plate only works on one side. Except for the fridge everything else feels like it came from a thrift shop. The sink is from a bathroom vanity and makes it almost impossible to wash dishes. The only pan to cook in was a sauce pan. A frying pan would have been nice. The kitchen table is wobbly and at first it felt as if it was going to collapse. The pictures of the yard are also deceiving. It's just not as pleasant as it appears. The furniture needed at least a good wipe down. Generally most everything just missed the mark.
This place has huge potential, but by the time you add cleaning fees, 14% occupancy tax and daily rental cost, there are nicer places in the area for the same money.
