  • This is a great place to stay! Colin and his wife Rowena are fantastic hosts. I came into Kona on a late night flight, and was provided excellent directions. The room is comfortable, clean and spacious. In the morning, I was treated to a fantastic breakfast of various fruits, toast, coffee, and jams. Colin actually makes the jams himself, and his banana bread is tremendous as well. Not only did I enjoy a great conversation with them, I truly felt welcomed. They are great hosts, who like to learn more about their guests, and I appreciate this in a time when so many things on our world are "transactional". Great place, great people!

  • We stayed two nights (March 24 and 25) with Colin and Rowena and it felt like staying with family. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and roomy. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfasts were excellent. We had breakfast on their front lanai with a distant view of the ocean and beautiful songs of a variety of birds. Couldn't be better.

  • We had a great experience sharing the beautiful house of Roweena and Colin! They were so nice and friendly, we really felt at home. The breakfast time was wonderful, very tasty food and lovely conversations with them. We wish we will come back to their place, we just miss them!!
This is the place to stay in Kona area.

  • I stayed with Colin and Rowena my one night in Kona. They are very friendly and my room was exactly what I was hoping for. I was very tired after a day of travelling and was so glad to have such a comfortable bed to sleep in. I had a great night's sleep and woke to a tasty breakfast made by Colin and served on their beautiful deck with a view of the ocean.

  • Colin and Rowena's place is amazing. My room was clean, cozy, and very well organized. I had my own full-sized bathroom, which was also very tidy. They are also one of the few bnb's I've stayed at that live up to what bnb's stand for, which is "Bed AND Breakfast", serving me fresh, exotic Hawaiian fruits in the morning. Overall, if their home is open during your visit, you won't be disappointed.

We will never forget the wonderful time in your place. All the best to both of you!

  • Even though we stayed one night, we were very happy with the accommodation provided by Colin and Rowena. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. We loved the breakfast provided in the morning especially the delicious jams which i think were homemade. I would love to have explored Kona more but I would stay at Colin's again.

About
My wife Rowena and I moved to Kailua-Kona in 1996. We love it here in Kona, this is our last stop on our voyage through life! We have a catering business (email hidden), we coordinate and cater private parties, weddings and special events up to 70 guests. If you would like to enjoy a gourmet home-cooked dinner instead of going to a restaurant, we will be happy to accommodate you. Before moving to Kona we ran a 65ft charteryacht in the Virgin Islands, showing guests how to sail, snorkel and windsurf, providing 3 meals a day and open bar. In 1983 I sailed a 41ft sailboat from Los Angeles through the Panama Canal to the Virgin Islands, so we have lots of sea stories to share. I spent 20 years in LA in the aerospace business as well as studying law, having met my first wife Barbara In 1963 in Israel. We moved to LA from the Isle of Wight , England where my parents had a hotel, and where I had studied French and German. Our interests include international cuisine(of course!),, gardening, backyard bird watching, photography.
