Ronan's Tree House Kinvara ,Galway

Treehouse - Private room · Kinvara West, County Galway, Ireland

The Space

A unique pyramidal structure tree house overlooking a beautiful garden pond has views of the Burren mountains.
Contains one double futon. Bathroom is in a sidehouse which has beautiful marble tiles and currently the only lighting is by candle . It's a bit like camping so be prepared for lots of early birds in the morning singing all around outside.
There is electricity in the treehouse but no cooking facility but you could barbeque on the balcony , otherwise the guest house is available for cooking and dining.
. I am 0.8 mile from the village bus stop..but there is a sidewalk all the way....All buses will pick you up from directly outside my house...But for drop off you will need to let the driver know when you get on the bus and then that will be fine also.....see what you think..
(As you may gather I have 3 Airbnb listings but understand that they are all the same property : that's just the way Airbnb works ! )

  • My husband and I stayed in Ronan's Tree house for two nights in April. Here is my review
    Pros:
-tree house was exactly as pictures
-location is great being easy to walk into to Kinvarra (Kinvarra is an amazingly quaint and fun village with GREAT restaurants and sights)
-Ronan built us a fire inside for our first night
-easy to find with the directions
    Cons:
-tree house itself is as described in AirBnB but there was no shower in use 'by candle light with beautiful marble tiles' for us next to the tree house. In fact, our first night we were told to use one of the indoor showers but it was quite dirty in the entire bathroom. Our second night, we were allowed to use a different bathroom in the house that had NO DOOR and no shower, just a tub. So I did not get a shower the second night.
    - the kitchen was dirty with food sitting out, open containers, and clutter. I would not have cooked anything in it.
    - the house itself does not look like the pictures.. It is under much construction with clutter, projects, and collections everywhere. VERY CLUTTERED AND MESSY.

Overall, I would NOT recommend this place to family or friends.

  • We absolutely loved the treehouse. It was cosy and comfortable. Ronan was friendly and welcoming, going out of his way to sit and chat, even helping us plan the next part of our journey through Ireland.

  • What a cool place to stay. The tree house was so cute and you had everything you needed in the kitchen and bathroom. And the location is great, close to a lot of beautiful sites. Ronan was a great host! We really enjoyed our stay!

  • Ronan...what an awesome guy! My girlfriend and I were in awe over his beautiful property which he has hand crafted. Ronan is very welcoming and easy going. Although there are many different projects around the house that he is working on the bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen are all very tidy and clean. It is definitely an experience worth having!

  • Ronan was out of town while I visited but he arranged to have another guest (long term guest) greet me and assist with everything. The treehouse is fantastic and exactly as described. I don't have much to offer that hasn't already been said, but id definitely stay again without hesitation. If you want a unique experience in a great part of Ireland this is it!!

  • our stay was great, the weather brilliant and ronan is a lovely bloke, calm and going out of his way to make all three of us welcome. we got there about 6pm, met ronan who showed us around. we had use of the kitchen and lounge, enjoyed abit of homemade bread he left for us and then went out for a meal.
on return ronan had a lovely warm fire waiting for us. we went to bed early to make the most of the experience in the treehouse (not every day you sleep in one is it?).
we woke up, about 9am, leaned over to open the small door, to reveal glorious sunshine, birds singing and blue skies. it was stunning weather and it made the whole stay much more enjoyable. my little one wandered off somewhere in the garden while her mum and dad showered. as the other guests had gone, ronan said we could use the showers inside, which we did, instead of the outside one we had.
the rooms inside were nice, open and without a hallway.different from your basic hotel, they had a warmer feel. we then had a small breakfast and spent the next three hours relaxing in the lovely garden taking a few photos.
our little one went on the small boat in the pond, it's tiny but for a kid, great enjoyment. we lazed in the hammock (my favourite) and then we all took turns to relax in the swing made from an upside down tree.
both of us adults really loved it, but my 7 year old was in her own world taking in everything that was different to normality. she absolutely loved it. so any parent who wants to surprise their kid with an age of between 4 and 10 i reckon, this would be a top treat and you would definitely be in the good books.
ronan said that almost all people that had stayed there in the treehouse were adults which surprised me, but i can definitely can see the attraction if you know what i mean.
overall, fantastic stay, hope to do it again next summer maybe.

About
Hey ,I'm Ronan .I am a creative and energetic person. I am all accepting of other peoples beliefs and quirks! This is my third year as an Airbnb host. So ... My interest in architecture has lead me to travel to places like Greece , Italy and Egypt . This education has inspired much of the garden art, which can be seen at my place. I enjoy wine at the end of the day and I like to cook. I believe in looking at the bright side of life and remaining positive. My dream is finally realized to be able to spend most of my time at home to create a unique living environment. To be totally honest ... I must be a bit crazy... I have all these creative projects that I must complete, .well.... I have designed and built my home to be a peaceful yet imaginative place. I no longer live in the guest house but live in another beautiful home which I am building next door. My aim is to give all my visiting guests as much space and privacy as they need . My " Cottage" listing is not a shared accomadation but has access to the guest house if you wish. My "Guest House" listing includes 2 twin rooms ( double and single beds ) and the treehouse with it's double futon . Kitchen and Living room are shared . So...... understand .... I have 4 listings at the moment but it is all the one property. I have a laundry room with washer and drier. One wash and dry is fine but please make a contribution if you have lots of laundry. Hope you can visit . Ronan
