The Space

Welcome to Santa Fe, the "City Different."

Come stay in our spacious studio apartment directly above our art studio. The apartment has a private outdoor entrance as well as direct indoor access to the studios below. The space is fully furnished and can comfortably accomodate 2-3 people (or a family with 2 younger children).

There is a double bed and a trundle which can be separated into twin beds (please let us know your arrangement ahead of time so the beds can be set up accordingly). There is a separate dressing area and bathroom with a shower.

You have access to a fully equipped dining area and kitchen with a small fridge, a microwave, a stove, a coffee maker and dinnerware.

In addition to baseboard heat an efficient wood burning fireplace heats the entire space in winter and adds to the local flavor. There is also Wi-fi access and satellite TV. The outside deck offers the best views on the property.

Our 5 year old yellow lab Ruby is as sweet as can be. She hangs out in the art studio but not in the apartment and has free run of our 31/2 acres. You can choose to engage or have nothing to do with her.

We are 2 miles from three great local eateries and 2.5 miles from a small grocery store. The historic Santa Fe plaza is a short 10 minute drive.

This space is great for an artist who would like to come for a relaxing art retreat! Consider adding a fully assisted art making experience with Master Printer and instructor Ron Pokrasso (additional fees apply). Please message us with any questions you might have.

  • The studio was very spacious and had everything we needed to relax, cook, and unwind in the Santa Fe countryside. It was fairly close driving distance to the Santa Fe plaza and was within proximity to some hiking trails around the area. The place was also pet friendly with 3.5 acres of ground surrounding the studio. I would recommend staying with Ron and Mary Ann.

  • Wow! This place was awesome! Mary Ann and Ron really made us feel welcome and like actual guests in their home. It felt like staying at a friends house more than a random rental. The place was super nice, quiet, and clean. There were also no surprises, everything was as described. The hosts were extremely responsive both before and during our stay. They even provided local tips and advice, which we found quite useful. Mary Ann and Ron even stocked the fridge and pantry with little things, which made the experience even more pleasant. Overall a great experience, looking forward to another visit and the chance to stay here again.

  • Ron and Mary Ann's apartment was the perfect home base for our three-day weekend in Santa Fe. The apartment is large, sunny, breezy, and very comfortable. There was lots of space for my husband and me to spread out, and we enjoyed cooking meals and eating on the deck. Ron was an excellent host. He was flexible when our plans changed, welcoming, and helped us find things to do in the area. We went on a nice 2-mile (approx.) walk around the neighborhood, which provided a mix of rural neighborhood and mountaintop vistas. I would recommend this apartment to a friend, and would love to return one day.

  • This was a bright clean apartment that was so comfortable. We enjoyed the fireplace while it snowed and the big windows while watching the lunar eclipse. The deck was a wonderful place to sip coffee in the morning while deciding what to do with another day of vacation. This was everything we expected and would be glad to stay there again.

  • What a great find! Clean, bright, well maintained apt with all the conveniences to make a one week stay easy, comfortable. Great location for a combination hiking vacation/dedicated studio time for printmaking or plein air painting. I would make my coffee and head downstairs to the spacious well-maintained printmaking studio for a full day of work. Guided workshops or open studio access for a fee are both options. Ron and Mary Ann were great hosts: efficient in the arrival logistics, generous with good advice about the area and kind enough to stock the kitchen with a few essentials. Nice view, fireplace and great light in the apartment. Ghost Ranch is an easy day trip..not to be missed. I will definitely be back. Thanks, Ron for your patience with my novice printmaking questions!

  • Though we didn't get to meet Ron, he was generally available if we needed help or advice. I've stayed there for 2 days with friends and this is a great place. The place is just how it looks on the pictures. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Santa Fe.

  • we didn't get to meet ron or mary ann as they were out of town but the woman who cared for their property and dog in their absence was fantastic and even gave us a jump when our car battery died!

the pluses: great views and gorgeous location. off the beaten path so it's quiet, beautiful and fully in nature. spacious interior with plenty of room to spread out in various zones. pet friendly: we travelled with two rescued kittens. only a 10-15 minute drive to town. VERY close to harry's roadhouse, a super great place to eat.

the minuses: if you're tall (i am) or wide, the shower won't be fun or easy for you. same is true for the beds, but as there are two beds, it makes it easier if you're traveling with a friend/lover/spouse and each need a bit more room.

the unexpected: we had a cleaning snafu when we arrived which the owners say they have already looked into. we believe them. as every other part of our stay was seamless, our guess is that this was just an oversight. especially since most places hire others to clean up after guests, not do it themselves.

  • Had a lovely stay. The studio apartment was delightful, well-supplied and clean. View was amazing and very much enjoyed a late-night glass of wine under the Milky Way. My daughter adored playing with a very friendly yellow lab, and we will definitely want to stay there again on our next visit.
