  • Staying at David's apartment was just perfect for a quick weekend trip to Madrid! David was super nice, communicative and easily reachable which is awesome. The apartment is located in the Chueca neighborhood which is a perfect location to walk anywhere in the city. The apartment is perfect for a couple. As noted in other reviews the toilet is a tight squeeze but it didn't bother me. Also David was kind enough to let me use his juicer which was a great way to start each day. I recommend this apartment!

  • David is a warm, friendly host who was always available to answer questions during my stay and very laid back.

The apartment has some pluses and minuses:
Pluses: A great location; step outside and you're in the thick of things in Madrid centre in a very tolerant and safe neighbourhood in the liberal, gay district. Walking distance to so many places and some excellent travel connections are a few minutes walk away. Also, considering the central location, the street, Calle de Pelayo, is really chilled out and pretty quiet.

Minuses: The bathroom is very tiny and unfortunately the toilet is awkwardly placed so that you cannot sit straight on it (or risk your knees causing the door to the bathroom to open as there is no lock) unless you're on the shorter side! Also, the apartment lacks light, which differs to the photos on the site, so it can get very dark and feel a bit claustrophobic. However, if you're spending less time in the apartment and more time exploring the city, this shouldn't be a problem. And also, I believe it has been recently decorated so I imagine the place should feel much brighter.

  • What a lovely place in a great location! Everything you need from washing machine to the small oven to heat up you jamon iberico sandwich :) the place is quiet and has a beautiful smell thankfully to the humidifier. The host was very helpful and available if I had any questions. Will definitely stay there again on my next visit!

  • David was a very nice host and was excellent at communication. He made the process very easy!

The apartment has plenty of space but does look better in the photographs. Pros and Cons:

    -AMAZING location
    -Excellent wifi
-super easy to communicate with host
    -no problems with hot water
-plenty of towels and nice and clean bedding

-The toilet is so close to the wall that you can't sit straight forward on it. We're tall guys and had to sit sideways on it. This is really the biggest challenge with the apartment.
-This wasn't an issue for us but the kitchen is small so if you are hoping to cook up big meals you'll be challenged (although it is possible except there is no oven or microwave).
-There's a slight smell of incense in the apartment which wasn't a problem for us but if anyone is sensitive this could be tough for them.

    Overall, fantastic location with some

  • I have the feeling that we have been unlucky with that place : dirty sock in the floor of the bedroom, cockroach in the kitchen, cold water in the shower... Definitely not the comfort I was expected for this rate.
Plus when I read the comments, I was expected to get great advice to visit the city, but instead we only get two maps.
Even if the flat is well situated in the Chueca area and well decorated I couldn't recommend it to any of my friends.

  • David's appartment was very convenient for my quick stay in Madrid. It was so easy to feel just "at home" there !!
Just a quiet and peacefull atmosphere in the center of Madrid.
Even if he is having "hard" time running the world, David is easilly reachable for giving good tips and advices on where to shop and what to do in Madrid !!
    Good vibes, indeed !!

  • Davids' apartment is very cozy indeed! I had a fantastic stay in Madrid, everything worked well and I can definitely recommend Davids' apartment. The communication was as both very prompt and as easy as it can get. Chueca is a fantastic Neighborhood for those who like to be in the center, close to all major attractions but not on High Street - I found Chueca very attractive with its plenty of owner driven shops, bars & cafe's nearby.

  • David and his apartment were great! I found David to be very kind and super helpful, he made me feel very comfortable. Though my stay was short i thoroughly enjoyed the comfy apartment and the location is wonderful! Lively area but David's apartment was not noisy at all. The location is ideal for gays/lesbians who are looking for a very friendly and liberal environment. There are 4 lesbian bar/clubs all within 3 minutes walking. Lots of cute gay boys all around :) Also, many cafe's, restaurants very close by. When i ever return to Madrid again I won't look anywhere else for a place to stay!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at David's neat, quiet and central apartment. The location couldn't be better--in the midst of one of Madrid's most vibrant neighborhoods, within short walking distance of excellent restaurants, cafés, markets etc. David was also very communicative and helpful. We would definitely stay again!
