About the Apartments
-We have three one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments. We live in one of them part-time.
-This unit faces the rear of the building (Southern exposure). All three of our units have great natural light, but thanks to the large trees in front of its windows, this apartment enjoys shade for most of the afternoon.
-The building is a very well-maintained, 1920's historic apartment building in the SOFA Arts District.
-Hardwoods floors throughout, all original fixtures and moldings. Charming kitchens with original icebox intact.
-All three apartments have large, picture frame windows; loads of light.
-Freshly painted, spotless.
-Sparsely furnished, each with full bed, stocked kitchen (tools/cookware) and full bath in modern-ish aesthetic.
They are lovely, no-fuss apartments and we are hoping to find folks who will enjoy them as much as we do. There is ample street parking. The building is quiet, only three units on the floor.
Perfect for cyclists enjoying SoCo; there's room in each apartment to store two bikes, maybe three. There is a floor pump available.
About the Area
SOFA (South of A Street) is home to Santa Rosa's arts community. The apartment is located between several points of interest (see map for guidebook). A new neighborhood bistro has opened downstairs - The Spinster Sisters. Picturesque Julliard Park is a block down the street. An .8 mi bike ride/walk away is the Fourth Street shopping and restaurant district which includes the well-known Russian River Brewery. Locally-owned Atlas Coffee shop is one block away. Historic and quaint Railroad Square offers more restaurants (American, Thai, wine bars) and speciality shopping, like antiques. The Spinster Sisters restaurant is downstairs.
Things To Do (See guidebook for our other apt, "Sunny Base for yr Sip & Cycle")
You can be sipping and cycling within a few miles of leaving South A Street. Walk two blocks north from the apartment and you are on the 22 mi. long Prince Memorial Greenway, which runs along the Santa Rosa Creek as far as Sebastopol. It is as perfect for exercise as it is for taking short or long explorations to other destinations in the area. Visit the Sonoma County wineries by bike throughout Russian River and Dry Creek Valleys. Do the incredibly scenic 50 mi. loop to Occidental and back. I'm happy to share any info on the area, just let me know what you'd like to do during your stay.

We stayed for 3 nights at Erics apartment. It was great, all as discribed and a lot of space. Whereever you want to go- Sonoma, Russian River and so on-is only 30 min drive away. And also Santa Rosa has a lot of nice restaurants. Don`t miss the spinster sisters-great food just downstairs of the apartment. We were 3 people so we needed the inflatable mattress. Sadly it was loosing air. I told Eric and he immediately organized a fold-up bed for us. Thank you very much, We would definetly stay here again!
Eric was very communicative and helpful. The apartment is upstairs in an older building over The Spinster Sisters Restaurant (great food!) and a few minutes from downtown and other cafes and restaurants. There is no central air so I slept with the windows open and the fan on for background noise and was comfortable. It was a good value and I would stay there again.
Perfectly located apartment for exploring the region by bike. Eric was extremely helpful suggesting an amazing route that took us through incredible scenery up to dry creek and back via chalk hill, would definitely sta again.
Eric was great to work with and was very responsive. Our visit went precisely as expected. The apartment was great - perfect for us because we have a one year old and there wasn't really anything she could get into. The bed was super comfy. The location is fantastic and Spinster Sisters is amazing. The noise from the highway and the restaurant below didn't bother us at all.
Apartment was as advertised and host was prompt and helpful. Location is nice above the Spinster Sisters. My travel partner became very ill and thus we had to cut out stay short.
The apartment was very clean and neat. The kitchen is not stocked with any cookware, but The Spinster Sisters directly below the apartment was great for dinner. Eric also gave us great advice on which wineries we should visit, and they were very enjoyable. There is loud restaurant and neighbor noise that comes in through the closed windows, especially in the morning, but it wasn't too awful. The apartment is a great deal for the area it's in. Eric was very easy to communicate with and was extremely helpful!
The host, Eric, was great! He was available, responsive, & friendly. We loved the apartment! It was built in 1925 in the shape of a parallelogram, which my husband & I find very interesting. It was a great apartment for a weekend getaway for me & my husband.
The building & neighborhood were quiet & the apartment is located within walking distance to many shops & restaurants, including a restaurant downstairs. Also very important, the apartment was clean!
I'd recommend this place to anyone.
