About the Apartments
-We have three one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments. We live in one of them part-time.
-This unit faces the rear of the building (Southern exposure). All three of our units have great natural light, but thanks to the large trees in front of its windows, this apartment enjoys shade for most of the afternoon.
-The building is a very well-maintained, 1920's historic apartment building in the SOFA Arts District.
-Hardwoods floors throughout, all original fixtures and moldings. Charming kitchens with original icebox intact.
-All three apartments have large, picture frame windows; loads of light.
-Freshly painted, spotless.
-Sparsely furnished, each with full bed, stocked kitchen (tools/cookware) and full bath in modern-ish aesthetic.
They are lovely, no-fuss apartments and we are hoping to find folks who will enjoy them as much as we do. There is ample street parking. The building is quiet, only three units on the floor.
Perfect for cyclists enjoying SoCo; there's room in each apartment to store two bikes, maybe three. There is a floor pump available.
About the Area
SOFA (South of A Street) is home to Santa Rosa's arts community. The apartment is located between several points of interest (see map for guidebook). A new neighborhood bistro has opened downstairs - The Spinster Sisters. Picturesque Julliard Park is a block down the street. An .8 mi bike ride/walk away is the Fourth Street shopping and restaurant district which includes the well-known Russian River Brewery. Locally-owned Atlas Coffee shop is one block away. Historic and quaint Railroad Square offers more restaurants (American, Thai, wine bars) and speciality shopping, like antiques. The Spinster Sisters restaurant is downstairs.
Things To Do (See guidebook for our other apt, "Sunny Base for yr Sip & Cycle")
You can be sipping and cycling within a few miles of leaving South A Street. Walk two blocks north from the apartment and you are on the 22 mi. long Prince Memorial Greenway, which runs along the Santa Rosa Creek as far as Sebastopol. It is as perfect for exercise as it is for taking short or long explorations to other destinations in the area. Visit the Sonoma County wineries by bike throughout Russian River and Dry Creek Valleys. Do the incredibly scenic 50 mi. loop to Occidental and back. I'm happy to share any info on the area, just let me know what you'd like to do during your stay.

This is a quaint neighborhood, lovely restaurant below the apartment and it's a very cool old building! We loved the atmosphere and having a "home base" that was conveniently located to downtown Santa Rosa (walking distance to lots of great eats) and also easy access to the freeway and other destinations we had planned. No air conditioning but there were two large fans and we stayed very comfortably here.
Overall, a very nice stay. The kitchen of the restaurant below us opened right under the bedroom windows and was very loud. But other than that, beautiful place, nice amenities, good location.
Accommodations were simple. Nice area of town. There was some evening noise from the restaurant below. Generally it served our needs for a few nights.
Eric made my first time with AirBnB a smooth transaction. Communication with Eric was fast and simple. Check in/out process was a breeze. His apt in Santa Rosa was just what we needed for a couple of nights stay and everything worked great.
The apartment is definitely older with a lot of its original fixtures. Even for being built in the 1920s, it's in good shape. Location was great and plenty of parking. I had no qualms with the apartment since rent was cheap (I believe it's a fair price). My gf, who has higher expectations, had a couple issues (little dusty and mattress not to her liking) but her elitist opinions don't matter on 'my' review. The only issue I had was the noisy neighbors but that's something you can't necessarily control. Overall it's a great place and I would come back again.
We had a very nice stay at this very cool, retro apartment. Very spacious, with a great breeze in the evening. Central location to everything and close to the freeways.
Our host was very prompt in his response and had great recommendations around town. Great place to stay for a few days.
The apartment was just as promised and was perfect for our stay in Santa Rosa. Eric gave great recommendations and was very responsive to all questions. We would stay there again (and definitely eat at the downstairs Spinster Sisters again!), though will hope it's a little cooler as there wasn't A/C. Great pick in the area!!
