Stay in a beautifully renovated 2nd floor, 1-bedroom, 1-bath private guest suite inside an 1870's mansard Victorian home.
Ideally located at the edge of Salem Common in the Washington Square Historic District, The Suite is easy walking distance to all main attractions, shops, restaurants and the Salem Ferry, and MBTA Train.
Combining period character with modern comfort, comes with one off-street parking space. Hosts live onsite, offering thoughtful care while respecting your privacy.
The space
They say it's all about location! Well, here you go. Experience the rich history of Salem in one of the most sought-after locations of the Washington Square Historic District.
Our WiFi is pretty darn fast. TV has Roku. You're welcome to enjoy the koi pond and garden, and there's one off-street parking space.
We host an additional space on the third floor of our home. The Garret is a separate 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment.
Guest access
You will need to be comfortable with stairs.
The Violet Suite is on the second floor and is accessible in two ways:
1. via the interior staircase, via the side mudroom, just off the driveway near the lamppost
2.,via the exterior porch stairs
You’re welcome to use either, but please be careful on the exterior stairs during inclement weather. In case of fire, please use the safest exit.
Keypad locks are provided for guest convenience.
Other things to note
When making a request to stay, please include a note about why you are coming to Salem and who you will be traveling with, if applicable. Because The Dowager Countess is also our home, please invest the time to share about yourself in your profile. You might think of it as a brief profile/bio you would write for a dating site! We understand that you may not have any reviews if you are new to Airbnb, so your profile is our only point of connection and introduction.
Check-in is at 3pm. Checkout is at 10am. We try to accommodate requests for late checkout (noon) or early check in (1:00), Both carry a $25 upcharge. Prior approval is needed please.
Driveway is shared with two other cars, accommodating three spaces across the back of the driveway. During a snow emergency, some tandem parking may be needed, up to five cars. Please avoid driving on the pavers.
We don’t subscribe to network tv but you’re more than welcome to sign into your own accounts via the Roku device.
Please no unauthorized guests/visitors, parties, or events. without prior approval. The Suite accommodates two adults. Pets not allowed.
No firearms and no smoking anywhere on the property and please no smoking detritus in either interior or exterior trash bins.
Please no glitter or confetti.
