Idyllic, secluded villa, exclusively yours on 13 acres in breathtaking valley, only minutes from Ronda in the heart of Andalucia. Sleeps 12 people in 6 bedrooms, all en suite. Beautiful Roman-inspired swimming pool.
La Cazalla is fully equipped with all the comforts you would expect from a villa rental, but more importantly all the extra little things that make you feel at home as well. Daily maid service (except weekends), a gardener, and a welcome basket of our homemade products.

• Secluded and private, yet only 4km/10 minutes drive from the highlights of historical Ronda and within driving distance of Córdoba, Granada, Seville, Malaga, and the resort towns of Puerto Banus and Marbella.

Originally a finca (English: farm/ranch), La Cazalla stands seemingly-alone in a scenic fertile valley, just 10 minutes' drive from the historical and fascinating town of Ronda. The main house and surrounding buildings of this luxury holiday rental blend naturally into the landscape, having been built around the native rock (see photos of our living areas within the main house). With a total of six bedrooms, our home is perfect for families, friends, reunions and activity groups of up to 12 people looking for a private villa in Andalucia.
The main house is elegant, cool and spacious, with many different areas for a large group to spread out and relax. Discover three tastefully-furnished living areas on split levels, a kitchen and a dining room, providing plenty of space for your family and friends to read, play card games, watch a film or listen to music. Sleep soundly in the large bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms containing beautiful mosaic tiled walk-in showers with adjustable mood lighting.
Our well-supplied kitchen was designed for a professional chef and provides all the cooking utensils and basic pantry items you need to prepare meals for a large group.
The three luxurious lounges on different levels and the dining room are very atmospheric, with walls set into the natural rock. The dining table comfortably seats twelve and sufficient china and cutlery are provided.
The Casa Principal is always rented along with El Nido (The Nest), which is a large air-conditioned private suite attached to the main house. El Nido has its own entrance, pretty terrace and bathroom, and contains a TV, WiFi, kettle and fridge. A perfect place for members of your family and large group who need or desire a space of their own with the benefit of air conditioning.
Our Roman-inspired pool is only heated naturally by the sun, but it is surrounded by fragrant lavender and stunning views. For your comfort there are:
• 12 sun loungers
• Garden seats and a table
• Shaded areas
• Cold freshwater showers fed straight from our spring
and many different terraces surround the house, with areas for relaxing, dining, snoozing and admiring the view.
There are so many different spots to choose from within the grounds, you’ll be hard-pressed deciding what to do!
• Read in the lounge chairs on the terrace
• Dine under the vine-covered pergola
• Search for tadpoles in the stream
• Play boules/pétanque under the olive trees
• Stroll along to the shade of the 12th Century ‘alberca’ (English: 'water cistern')
• Take a drink up to the old threshing circle and watch the sun change the colours of the gorge from orange to pink. If you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of the deer as the owls start hooting.
The area around La Cazalla has barely changed since the Romans, and later the Moors, inhabited it. Once here a feeling of peace prevails: the sounds of birds singing, bells jangling on the sheep in the forest and the breeze rustling the leaves on the trees. It is difficult to spot any other sign of human life, and yet the sense that man has lived in this valley for thousands of years is very strong.

Nearby Ronda retains much of its historic charm, particularly within its old town, despite being Andalucía's fastest-growing town (recently surpassing even Córdoba in popularity). It is famous worldwide for its dramatic escarpments and views, and for the deep El Tajo gorge that carries the rio Guadalevín through its centre. You will be awed by the 18th century Puente Nuevo (English: 'new bridge'), which straddles the 100m chasm below, and delight in its incredible views out over the Serranía de Ronda mountains. Ronda has the charm of a small town, but at the same time offers modern shops, large supermarkets and good restaurants. Some of the best restaurants in Ronda are nearby in the Plaza Alameda: Casa Maria, Almocobar, Bar El Convento and De Locos Tapas, as well as some great little bars for tapas.
The area around Ronda offers a multitude of outdoor activities: hiking (the GR7 passes through Ronda, which is surrounded by several sections of the Great Malaga Path) and biking are very popular, as well as mountain climbing, canoeing, birding, horse riding, paragliding, tennis and, on the coast, golf.
Nearby, the pretty ‘Peublos Blancos’ (English: 'white villages') make for a wonderful, scenic drive. Further afield the cities and UNESCO World Heritage sites of Granada, Seville and Cordoba are all around 2 hours drive from Ronda - perfectly feasible as day trips to discover the fascinating heart of Andalucía. In the opposite direction, 45 minutes away on the Mediterranean coast, lies the glitz and glamour of Marbella and Puerto Banus.
