Place was great! We had a good time, it was very convenient and easy to get to/and from. Our only issue is that the shower was clogged when we got there but I let John know right away and he took care of it the next morning. I'd recommend this place.
The apartment could have been cleaner, clean sheets were there but no one vacuumed the place for some time now. Otherwise more or less what you see on the photos.
The location is pretty good - convenient for public transport. The keys were easy to access - a good system, but the doorway was very dark which made it difficult to key in the combination. The steep spiral staircase had no lighting either - really dangerous. We weren't too impressed with the flat. The photos on the website bear little resemblance to the real thing - it is much more run-down that the pictures suggest and the photos need to be labelled so that guests know which apartment is the one they have chosen (I don't think there are any of number 1). The bathroom sink, shower, and soap dispenser were dirty and the shower curtain was mouldy and needs to be replaced. There was a strong smell of damp throughout. We expected more considering the price and the promise of the promotional information.
First the good: Mark's place has a great location, less than a 5 minute walk away from Barbican station which is very conveniently located in London. The self check-in process was very smooth and the room is very spacious -- could fit more than 2 people there without issues if you use the sofa. In addition, Mark was a very responsive host over email.
Unfortunately, the fact that nobody lives at Glasshouse clearly shows. When we arrived the toilet was not cleaned properly -- there was urine on the toilet seat -- Mark had housekeeping come and clean it the following day, though. The fixtures in the bathroom, particularly the shower curtain are also quite old and dirty. I suggest they get replaced. Additionally, the washing machine was not working. Finally, I saw some bugs on my last day there (and several bug traps around) so there may be need for more cleaning.
I think if Mark addresses these and makes the place look and feel cleaner and better taken care of then this would really make it a stellar AirBnB.
Convenient location but follow the video guide to find it!

We lived in glasshouse 1 and 2 for 6 nights in August,2013. The location is great! Just 2 minutes walk from Barbican tube station. The room is big enough for 3 people. We are very glad to have the washing machine and cooking facilities. But we didin't know why the heat is always on so we always opened the windows. No problem with the shower. We didn't see Mark but check in was easy. It is quite comfortable to live here. Very convenient. Wish I can come back to London and stay here again!
I rented 3 glasshouse studio flats for my family for their stay in London during my wedding. 12 people in total, so 4 per flat. The location is great, flats are clean and in good condition and access is easy once your read the instructions.
A note about the sofabeds: 2 of 3 flats we rented had ridiculously small sofabeds, no way two full grown adults can sleep on that comfortably for a long stay. The host calls them 'comfy', I firmly disagree. We had to buy an airbed from a local store to sleep everyone well as it was rented for 6 nights. I left Mark a voicemail about this and some chairs missing, I only got a reply the next day. The host found it also necessary to mention I was probably angry due to being stressed for my wedding... Totally inappropriate.
All in all, my family had a good time and enjoyed the stay. I would still recommend this place as price vs location are very good. Just be aware that if you rent it with 4 people per flat it will be tight.
My family and I loved Mark's apartment. The apartment was nicely decorated, clean and conveniently located close to the Barbican train station (2 minute walk) and a Tesco Express grocery store. The kitchen had all the necessary items (dishes, silverware, pots and pans, etc.) to cook meals and Mark did a great job providing directions to get to the apartment as well as a visitor's guide showing local markets, supermarkets, banks and places of interest. Overall, my family had a wonderful experience staying at Mark's apartment.
Amazing location for access to my favourite parts of London - Farringdon, Islington, Clerkenwell, Spitalfields and Shoreditch/Hoxton. Literally 2 mins walk from Barbican station.
Cosy, clean, bright, secure and quiet. Super easy self check-in.
A great space to stay if exploring London or (like me) you're in town for work.
Would definitely book this again!
