A comfortable, safe place to stay in this wonderful sea-side town.
Our house is a beautiful, custom, naturally built home in a pleasant co-housing community. The house has three stories, two bathrooms, four bedrooms, our guest room and a large upstairs office area. We have five kids that live with us half the time (Lisa's three are 12, 15 and 17) and Nicole's youngest two are 12 and 13). They may or may not be here when you come, as they spend half the time with their dads, who also live in our community, just a few houses away.
WE WILL ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHETHER THE KIDS WILL BE AT HOME BEFORE YOU BOOK, SO YOU CAN MAKE YOUR CHOICE.
You room has a comfortable queen-size bed on the first floor. There is no closet, but you do have nightstands and another table to put your things and room for suitcases, etc. (SEE PHOTOS)
There are two bathrooms, and you can use either one. The downstairs bathroom has a sink, toilet and shower and is very comfortable, though it is small. This one will be for your use only during your stay. The upstairs bathroom has a bathtub/shower, toilet and two sinks, and is a SHARED bathroom; it is bigger.
The house is clean and warm, and has good lighting. It is centrally located, less than 2 miles from the downtown area, 1 mile from Fort Worden and about 1 mile to the North Beach area.
You can get to all the major Port Townsend spots of interest (and the ferry) within 1 to 2 miles, so it is easy to get around by walking, on bike, or by car.
Nicole is a writer, acupuncturist and life coach.
Lisa runs her own online business teaching English to adults throughout the world - English Fluency Now is her website.
We both work from home, so we will be around most of the time, though we'll be busy working.
We enjoy cooking delicious meals using organic ingredients.
You can use our kitchen to prepare and cook meals. NO MICROWAVE.
If you are looking for a private, romantic get-away, this will not be it (due to the shared space), but if you just want to spend a few wonderful days in this beautiful, artsy Victorian sea-side town, then this will be a great spot to stay dry and warm, and have a good night's sleep.
This is a private home, not a hotel, so please make sure this is a good fit for your tastes, to avoid any unmet expectations. Ask questions if you need something in particular.
Because of the beautiful natural setting and close proximity to beaches, uptown, and downtown, this is an ideal location!
You can walk to North Beach and Fort Worden. The golf course is on the corner. You can easily walk uptown to the Saturday Farmers Market, and downtown to where most of the restaurants, stores and cafes are.
Lisa speaks Spanish and some French and German.
While you are here, we will provide you with organic, fair-trade, locally roasted coffee and organic tea, and we usually have eggs and bread and jam you can use to make yourself some breakfast, as well as oatmeal.
We don't make you breakfast, but you can use the kitchen to prepare food at any time.
We do have a cat, so plan accordingly.
If you have questions, just ask us!

Interaction with Guests
We like to interact with guests when we have time. We enjoy learning about people from other places and are happy to share information about Port Townsend, including places to visit, good restaurants, outdoor adventures, etc.
Our house is located at the end of a short street. This means there is no traffic and it is very quiet. Our neighbors are very friendly and because we live in a cohousing community, we have access to beautiful common areas, including the common house, the gardens, the playground and the forest area.
It is a great neighborhood: quiet, clean, friendly and close to all things in Port Townsend.
There is a bus that runs nearby the house, but it is super easy to walk into town (just about 2 miles).
I have, on occasion, picked people up from downtown and driven them to the ferry, which goes to Whidbey Island.
Other Things to Note
When you book, make sure you follow our directions on how to get to the house. Several people have tried to use their GPS, but it takes you down another street which dead ends one house away from ours.
We expect you to respect our house and our stuff, as well as our community's property and stuff.
We would like you to communicate clearly and be friendly.
No smoking, drinking or drugging.
We have a cat.
We are opening our home to you so that you have a nice place to stay in our beautiful town.
You are using our private bedroom, which will be clean and have clean bedding, etc - of course. You will also use the bathroom, which has a bath/shower and the kitchen/living area.
If you have more than two people, we can possibly accommodate using 2 twin size bunk beds (which belong to our kids) and we also have a large upstairs, carpeted attic for throwing down mattresses, blankets, sleeping bags, air-beds etc. You can ask us if you have a large group.
We just want it to go well for all of us. Let us know if you have questions or need anything.
We value honesty and direct communication.
We usually go to bed around 10 PM.
This was a great location. Very close to several points of interest. I spend the majority of my trip out and about. So unfortunately I didn't get to interact much with Lisa and Nicole. That being said when I did see them they were welcoming, friendly and helpful. They made Wi-Fi available as well as maps with local area attractions.
Our overnight with Lisa was great. Her home has wonderful style and the is surrounded by gardens and rolling yards. It is in a great location with quick access to everything. The bed was comfortable and she offered the use of her kitchen. It was fun to sit and visit with her and some of the kids in the morning before we all headed out.
My 6 year old son and I enjoyed a brief stay in this cozy home and beautiful valley. Lisa and Nicole were welcoming and child-friendly, and their house is beautiful, unique, clean, and organized well for accommodating guests. Set in an quiet, idyllic valley, it was a peaceful oasis away from the city.
Lisa's place was great. She had a very nice room for us and a private bathroom. I would definitely recommend staying here. Very quiet and we had an excellent sleep.
Lisa's made us very welcome in her beautiful home. The surroundings are beautiful and we slept well in the sweet room. We plan to stay there again.
Lisa and Nicole were wonderful hosts! They were so laid back and easy to chat about Seattle and Portland areas. Plus, they have great directions to their place and tips for visiting Port Townsend, a quiet and darling, but down to earth town! Heading to North Beach to hike up Fort Worden for the day was perfect! And Fountain Cafe was delicious!
I loved staying at their place because they gave me as much privacy as I needed, but stayed to chat when I had questions! The location is quiet and serene - a great place to relax after hectic Seattle. I would love to come back for another relaxing vacation!
This house is beautiful and unique, we loved staying here and wished we had more than just a day to enjoy it. Everything was as we expected it to be from the listing, just what we needed for a short weekend stay.
