The space
Suite 1 is the largest of the three, with it's beamed cathedral ceiling, high South facing triangular windows, and sliding patio door onto the deck, it's a beautiful space full of light. Art from the host's collection, and carpets and fabrics from Persia, add warmth and colour, set against simple decor with a Zen quality that calms the mind and the spirit.
Cozy up in front of the gas range with a book or sit in meditation; make a smoothie, cook a simple meal; listen to the sound of crickets, tree frogs, ocean waves, eagles, bird song...
All 3 suites are private, quiet and intimate and inviting. The atmosphere has a quiet depth that holds peace and silence well. They provide all you need for a beautiful, comfortable, simple luxury retreat.

Guest access
Suite 1 has its own access from the breezeway and once inside you will be completely private. Location

Denman Island, British Columbia, Canada

Go for a bike ride around the Island, walk on the beach or hike the forest trails. Kayak, scuba dive, swim from the beaches or lakes in summer. On many seasonal migration routes, it's a great place to observe and photograph wildlife.
Denman Island is centrally located in the beautiful Gulf Islands of British Columbia from which you can explore the area. Day-trips include Tofino & the West Coast of Vancouver Island; Mt. Washington (skiing and hiking); Coombs & Cathedral Grove; Hornby Island (10 minute ferry ride); Whale Watching; Helicopter Rides; Chartered Boats; plus many more wonderful destinations.
Denman Island enjoys mild and largely dry weather in spring, summer and fall. Most rainfall occurs from November through January, but on our side of the island we are in a rain-shadow, so get less than average for the area. The closest Environment Canada weather station at Comox Airport records average regional summer highs in the mid 20°C range (70°F) and winter lows a few degrees above freezing.

My wife Mitra and I are both artists/photographers, and have lived in this paradise since 2003. When we moved in it was a little cottage on 2 acres of forest and bush, and you couldn't even see the ocean! Over the past 17 years we've cleared and developed the property into a beautiful park-like setting with 3 luxury independent guest suites at the heart of it. These were completed in the Fall of 2020 and we've had the pleasure of sharing them with our guests since then.
