The house was custom designed by an architect. Its angular shape was intentional and twofold:
1. two century-old olive trees were saved from being cut down and as a result became an integral part of the house. Now they proudly stand tall in the main yard.
2. It's orientation provides maximum exposure to the sun rays throughout the day and the common grounds open up to the olive grove.
• Washer (for a fee if staying less than a week)

The house is located in the centre of the town. However, it is tucked into an olive grove, which provides a quiet recluse from the bustling town. The house is located in the centre of the town. However, it is tucked into an olive grove, which provides a quiet recluse from the bustling town. The house is extremely close to all the action of the town, and our guests have the option of enjoying the best of both worlds.
Many quality restaurants and coffee bars are located within a short stroll from the house.
The house shares the olive grove with a IV century Roman Mosaic. It is walking distance from the house, some 20m away.

The staying at Ivana's was really unforgettable and stunning thanks to, on the one hand, the cosy, neat and brightly stylished appartment surrounded by olive trees and, on the other hand, to the householders always ready to support either with transfers or come to the resque when the children were ill one by one. I'm really grateful to all the members of the, I say, 'householding crew' and the owner herself and would highly recommend the place! For me personally the place was suitable as I came with children with an age gap: a 16-year old teenager and a child of 5. So that the first level with an ideally working wi-fi was really perfect for a teenager son whereas the second floor level was a calm place for a day-and-night sleep for a younger baby. Thanks, a lot. Dasha, Nikita, Daniil ( (phone number hidden))
This kinds of input is something parents will appreciate when picking the most-suitable place for their vacation with children. Thank you very much! For me as well: reliable wifi might be one of the key things to have available when teenagers are present :) I have to admit, I haven't looked at it from that angle. Happy teenagers = happy parents too, and more enjoyable vacation. Yes, the upstairs is in fact very cosy and private even though it is just at the top of the stairs. I love curling up there on rainy days, but also after beach days.
I am glad you had an enjoyable stay! Grandpa and hosts had only nice things to say about all of you too.
Very good experience. Nice location. Apartment decorated with taste with a lot of natural light. My little girl loved the bed on the upper floor. Host very helpful.
This apartment is exactly as described. Perfect location - in a quiet area, yet walking distance to the restaurants, bars and beeches. Would recommend the walk through the tunnels to see the Monastry....really beautiful views. Ivana was really friendly, helpful and happy to answer any questions. Would definately recommend.
Communications with Ivana were great. When we arrived the language barrier with her grandfather made it a little bit difficult to know whether it was him we had to speak to about our room, but we soon sorted it out. He was a very kind and helpful man. Petrovac was not quite what we had expected. Much busier and touristic. With the help of emails from Ivana we were able to find some quieter beaches. Were there in peak season, so would be quieter most other times i would think. We did expect to have free parking, but Ivana's grandfather helped with a secure parking area near the apartment where we had to pay 5 euros a day. The apartment was clean and in a good spot in the town. We were there mid to late August 2013.
This is in reality not a flat, but a room in an apart-hotel. The design was nice and the room was spacious. The kitchen had plenty of utensils but no basic cooking elements (oil, salt, sugar, etc).
We felt rather unwelcome by the hosts. Ivana was great during our early communication (and got us a baby bed, which was nice), but during our stay all interactions were rather unpleasant. No one spoke English. Our son was playing in the olive three garden the first day, the second day the door was shut. He bounced a ball three times and someone came to tell us off (at 19.30 pm). The main door has frosted glass so anyone passing can see inside and the last day the staff just came inside without knocking. Small things, but they piled up to make a negative experience.
Petrovac (and particularly Lucice) is a nice place to visit, but based on our experience I would not stay here again.
Sorry that you felt unwelcomed, it was certainly not the case. We don't advertise as providing food in any of the units, so not sure how the expectation was set.
The house is indeed divided into units (apartments), and the one you stayed in has a full bathroom, separate sleeping area and kitchen. Hence, it is not a room only.
The main door that is referred to in this review has frosted/flower- patterned panes between wood panels in order to let the natural light into the foyer. No one dwells in this foyer, and it acts as a hallway pass-through connection to the adjacent rooms, stairs, linen closet for our housekeeper. Therefore, no privacy issue there. In addition, this door is locked at all times (each guest is given the key).
There is another access to the yard and the olive grove, sorry you didn't find it. I would'e happily explained it to you if you asked. The door oyu speak of was locked for security reason (the housekeeper must've been outside of the house).
Good luck in your future travels. Perhaps a traditional hotel is more suitable.
