Your apartment is located in an old Victorian house built around 1875 on rue Saint-André. During your stay, you will be within walking distance of Old Montreal and the Plateau and you will be able to enjoy the many activities in the center of town.
The apartment is equipped with a queen sleigh bed with four drawers. The house, well situated for visiting the city center, is in a quiet residential area. The room in the back of the building is open to the courtyard.
The living room is equipped with a 40 inch HD TV and a DVD player. A small table can be used to accommodate 4 guests for dinner. Additional chairs are in the closets. An ironing board and iron are also available.
The bathroom has all the standard equipment with a modern sink, a shower and toilet. A Convectair Calypso will heat the room very quickly to give maximum comfort, especially in winter. Towels and a hairdryer are at your disposal for the duration of your stay.
Finally the washing machine and dryer are particularly useful for a long stay.
The kitchen has a stove, oven, range hood, refrigerator and freezer. On the counter you will find a microwave oven, coffeemaker, kettle and toaster. In the cupboards, there is everything you need to prepare and enjoy your meal, such as pots and pans, plates, glasses, cups, cutlery, etc...
During the summer, you can enjoy the garden and the terrace.
Interaction with Guests
Available when guest needs me. Other than that, guest lives in their apartment with no interaction with me.
Close to stores, supermarkets, old Montreal, downtown Montreal, festivals in summer.
Just a few hundreds meters from bus terminal so very easy to access from the airport. Located between 2 subway stations.
No smoking, no candle
The Adjiamo was the perfect place to stay while in Montreal. It is ideally situated with a Walk Score of 98 and a transit score of 100 from (website hidden)
We didn't have a car, it was -16 degrees centigrade outside for a few days and we had our 5 and 7 year old daughters with us, so it was important for us to be close to amenities and transit.
The apartment is 600 mts away from two Metro stations, one of which is, Berri-UQAM, one of the main transit interchanges of the city. The airport shuttle (747) to and from YUL arrives at a modern bus station (Gare de Autocars) only 300 mts away from the apartment, you can also catch a bus there to Quebec City or other nearby locales or as far as Boston. There are quite a few buses running down Rue Ontario but we never used them being so close by foot or Metro to any place we chose to go.
Shopping and restaurants:
There is an abundance of options. 3 blocks towards the river you have Place Dupuis which has an IGA supermarket, it also has a pharmacy and a food court. There is also a place called Marche St Jaques 3 blocks away, which is kind of a small gourmet shopping center, with artisan bread, organic produce, etc. If you have a need for milk, eggs, detergent or any other essential, there is a gas station no more than 50 meters from the apartment. 6 blocks away you have Rue St Denis which has tens of restaurants within one single block. Don't miss Shwarma Plaza for a cheap and excellent "Assiete" of Lebanese food, only two blocks away, on Rue St Hubert close to the corner of Rue Ontario. You can walk to the heart of the old downtown in about 15 minutes.
The place is clean and functional. The wooden floors, exposed brick and halogen lighting add charm. There were two big closets and many drawers under the bed, which really made a difference since we were 4 people travelling with big suitcases. All the storage space allowed us to get our stuff out of the way and enjoy all the living space. The bed has a decent mattress and there is a futon that converts into a 2nd bed, with sufficient linen and blankets. The kitchen is small but has everything we needed, decent sized fridge, microwave, electric oven and stove, etc. The bathroom is functional, the shower had pressure and didn't run out of hot water. It has a new washing machine and drier that worked very well during our stay.
Great experience. It took Philippe 5 minutes to confirm our booking. We arrived at 11 pm and he was there to welcome us and walk us through the essentials. All his replies to our messages were close instant and he helped us out when we needed it.
The apartment was clean and cosy and conveniently located. The terrace was alright for a smoke but wouldn't be somewhere you could spend any length of time. The kitchen and bathroom were stocked with the bare essentials which is thoughtful, especially if you're staying just for a few days. Philippe seemed quite nice.
Overall a positive experience :).
