Gaye was there to welcome me to the apartment and provided me with all the information I would need for my stay. I was very pleased with the the attention to detail and thought that went into supplying the home.
I had a great time staying in Nobhill Studio 2D in Albuquerque. The apartment was delightful--decorated beautifully and well-stocked with every cooking and baking implement you could want (a bonus for me, as I was cooking in a lot during a week-long stay). At first, the location seemed strange--in a kind of strip mall with a view of the Taco Bell and a parking lot--but it was incredibly convenient; I was going to the UNM campus every day, and it is as close as it can be. The neighborhood has abundant restaurants and shops, and you can walk around easily and safely. The only issue I had with the apartment is that the bed is a Murphy-style bed, and the "feet" are not particularly stable--it collapsed on me a couple of times (once when I put my luggage down on it, once when I just sat down on it). Otherwise, the apartment is great; modern, spacious, and perfect for a long-term stay. I would definitely recommend it.
Megan, so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for letting me know about the Murphy Bed. Sounds like the cord to the hydraulic system needs adjusting and I wouldn't have known this had you not mentioned it. We had the bed custom made to easily afford for more space during the day if needed. Although, guests seldom seem to need the extra floor space. We will definitely get it checked out. Please keep us in mind for the future and thanks for being such a great guest. Gaye
We had a great time here. The place is exactly what you'd expect from the description and Gaye clearly has experience hosting, so all our questions were answered right away on checkin (mostly already written down in the checkin handbook). We didn't have any reason to contact her, but I was sure she'd get right back to us. We'll happily stay again.
Gaye was a nice, accommodating host, with lots of things waiting for us on our arrival. We liked the place very much and would recommend it. It's very close to everything you could need.
Gaye was very easy and pleasant to work with. The studio had a very happy colorful vibe. It was very clean and well maintained. Great restaurants, bars and shopping were within walking distance. We enjoyed the bottle of wine and snacks!
Gaye was and provided everything exactly as advertized, responding to my countless advance worry-wart questions about the unit and neighborhood timely and patiently! When i reported that i may have left my rain jacket in the unit, she promptly communicated with cleaning staff and subsequent renter to verify that I had not left it behind and got back to me right away. (We eventually found the jacket elsewhere.) We stupidly broke a glass bowl by storing ice in it in the freezer, and Gaye did not bat an eye about it when we told her.
This studio was a lot of fun to be in and very comfortable. Approaching the block from the outside, you may wonder what you are doing pulling up past a Taco Bell to a strip mall for lodging--don't be fooled! The unit is ALL NEW and really, nice! Re: kitchen--we cooked a full meal and found every utensil etc. we needed on hand. We ate the meal rooftop with a wonderful 200+-degree view of Albuquerque and mountains. Ground floor restaurant was closed that day, so we had rooftop to ourselves, with guests in another unit who joined us up top with their ice cream.
This unit is separated from the SE corner of main UNM campus by exactly one street--perfect for us. Thx Gaye!
