Designed for staying cool

Beat the heat with the AC and ceiling fan.
Creekside is a 312 square foot (plus loft) secluded Tiny Cabin. It is nestled in the woods, with mountain views and absolutely stunning night skies. A picturesque year-round mountain stream is less than 50 feet from the cabin porch.

The modern cabin was designed to be comfortable and appealing. Every "tiny" detail was considered. Although the cabin may have limited square footage, it feels roomy and uncrowded.

The space
Our goal in designing and building this cabin was to be sensitive to the property while drawing attention to the beautiful setting. The cabin is situated so that the bed and loft windows face the stream. At night, you are able to open the side windows and let the sounds of the stream lull you to sleep

The kitchen is equipped with modern conveniences and appliances: a two burner gas stove with exhaust hood, microwave, under-counter refrigerator, 3-cup Keurig coffee maker, toaster and a complete assortment of dishware and cooking utensils. The living space has a ceiling fan, two rockers and a dining/work table with two stools. The cabin has an "instanta" hot water, super fast wi-fi, TV with YouTube TV and Netflix, and a remote controlled heat and A/C unit.

Outside, we provide a 2 level deck with dining furniture, a gas grill, a hammock, various outdoor games, campfire chairs and dry firewood for your use in the firepit.

There is a dedicated hiking path along the stream (see map in pictures). While hiking, you will encounter gentle waterfalls, pools for fishing, areas of shallow water to wade and relax in, and a “super fun” scavenger hunt. Many guests have told us that their initial plan was to hike the area parks, but once they got to our property, they decided to stay put......that our property was much more enjoyable and relaxing.

Guest access
Our guests will have access to the entire cabin and adjacent property. Parking in the graveled space next to the cabin will make unloading your vehicle a breeze.

Other things to note
We strongly recommend that you turn-on the wi-fi calling feature on your phone, as this area is well beyond the reach of most cell services.

Suggested items to bring with you:
1. Personal care items : We provide body soap and shampoo, antibacterial hand soap and toilet paper. Please bring any other personal products you may need.
2. Bring food, drink, cooking condiments, aluminum foil if needed. We provide olive oil, salt/pepper, coffee pods, tea bags, sugar/creamer, dish soap, paper towels, and paper/matches for a fire.
3. Bring a cooler if needed. The under-counter frig has limited capacity.

There is plenty of dry firewood provided at the cabin

Be alert and pay attention to weather forecasts as your stay approaches. The cabin can experience decent snowfall and the temperatures can be somewhat cooler than 'Moorefield, WV'.

Cindy and I lived the majority of our lives in Northeast Ohio, with a National Park in our backyard. Our jobs took us to the Washington, DC area in 2011. After living in a high rise for a few years, we realized how much we missed the peacefulness of the woods. In 2016, we began looking for property to build a tiny cabin, but instead, purchased a partially finished cabin in the mountains outside of Moorefield, WV and took the next year to completely renovate it. We loved the entire experience, so in 2018, we purchased the adjacent 20 acres with stream frontage and began our journey to design and construct the modern tiny cabin we now call Creekside. We are excited to offer our property and look forward to showing you the 'Wild and Wonderful' West Virginia.
