Welcome to the holiday home "La Campanella" , named after the alley in which the flat is located, a silent street in the centre of Rome.
The "Rione Ponte" is the name of the ancient district that will host (website hidden) stretches from the bridge(ponte in Italian-hence the name) of Castel Sant' Angelo to the ancient heart of Rome. The statues og the bridge will accompany you on a short walk across the river Tiber to our home "La Campanella".
From there, you will enjoy loosing yourself in the maze of alleys, and be fascinated by the historical antiques and clothes shops, until unexpectedly behind a corner you will find yorself face to face with the magnificence of Piazza Navona. And if you feel like (email hidden)ly marketplace, you may have a look at the characteristic Campo de' Fiori, where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables. Living the district, at a comfortable walking distance, you can easily reach the most important places of historic and archaeological interest, such as the Vatican, but also the Pantheon and, from there, the Imperial Fora of ancient (website hidden) night, the unique atmosphere oh the Roman nightlife will bewitch you. Each day for dinner you may choose between many different and typical places, as the Rione Ponte is full of restaurants and places to go after eating. If you wish to move a little further, you can also easily reach Trastevere, the ancient district which today hosts the Roman "movida" and the restaurants that make us famous worldwide. Do not forget, though, to wander through the alleys of the Eternal City, with their surprising corners, and to breathe the fresh evening air which wishes you goodnight........we look forward to welcoming you Alessandro e Cristina Mercadante
Great apartment and excellent location - we walked to all the major sites comfortably, and plenty of quality restaurants close by. Well equipped kitchen, washing machine a godsend and clothes dried quickly in the apartment - no need for dryer. Yes, a bit dark in the apartment as others have said, but plenty of lamps/lights needed when you're not busy exploring Rome. Alessandro greeted us warmly and made sure we were settled. We appreciated having his contact details incase we needed any assistance. Thank you, Alessandro for hosting us!
Great location! Its the perfect location to get a feeling of what it might be to live in Roma. The nicest hosts!
We had a great experience with Alessandro's apartment. It's in a great location - half-mile from the Vatican - and we felt very safe and comfortable there. Alessandro was a great host, arriving promptly at 12:00 to let us in the apartment and show us around. Check-in was quick to allow us to get out and explore Rome. We were able to walk to the Roman Forum, Colosseum, Four Rivers, Trevi, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, and the (email hidden)ey were not short walks but nonetheless we walked everywhere. I would recommend taking a taxi from the train station - if you arrive by train - as bus number 64 was extremely over packed! The location is great, the apartment is clean, has hot water and wifi, and the host was great. I would recommend staying here.
Alessandro was a great host and the flat is in a wonderful location. Its a small one bedroom, but was the perfect size for my husband and Me. It's tucked away off a tiny street but easy to navigate from the main strip. From the flat you can easily walk to the Vatican, colosseum, and many of the fun places to eat and drink. Allesandro was very attentive and accommodating to our travel plans and very responsive. Overall it was a wonderful experience.
This apartment was perfect for the (sadly) short time the three of us were able to stay in Rome. It was within walking distance to a lot of incredible attractions, and a nice place to come back to at the end of some pretty full on days. Alessandro himself was a considerate host, who was easily contactable, and very quick to reply!
Wow what can I say about Allasandro and his amazing apartment in Rome . Highly recommend this place .
We caught a taxi €48 from airport , driver knew exactly where to go . Could be a bit hard by bus if first timer in Rome .
Quiet street with so many amazing restaraunts close by. Grocery stores also close by.
The apartment is large and clean . Fantastic amenities . Comfortable large bed . Washer no dryer but no problem clothes dry Quickly on airer .
In one of the best locations , walking distance to Vatican. You can literally walk all over Rome from here . We even walked up to the Colloseum, Spanish steps and Trevi fountain .
Love this apartment and will highly recommend it to all
The apartment was in the best location! 5 minutes (max) walk to the bars and restaurants near Piazza Navona and walking distance to all the sites!! There was a supermarket at the bottom of the road for essentials. The apartment itself was lovely, and had everything we needed. The only thing was that it was dark, with no natural light in the bedroom, but you've got to expect that in an old building. We did run out of loo roll on the 2nd day and couldn't seem to find anymore in the flat but that was the only issue, which is obviously minor!! Overall, a lovely stay in the most perfect location and I would recommend to anyone.
It was such a great stay in such a nice and central location, perfect! It was the first time that a friend and I visited Rome and the city is just wonderful. What has been great about our stay was the appartments perfect location for exploring Rome by feet, the charming style and our whole stay was free of any troubles. Alessandro has been fast in responding, really friendly and helpful and neither our late check-in past midnight nor the late check-out have caused any troubles. Alessandro is a great host and fast and efficient - I would come back and come strongly recommend the appartment.
This apartment was very quiet and convenient, which was really helpful when navigating Rome the first time. Location is about 10 minutes from the Vatican - if you are doing a bus tour, you should be able to pick up from there and see the rest of the big sights easily. Per a prior post, we ate at Ristorante Da Tonino on Via del Governo Vecchio - Awesome. There's (email hidden) just down the road with a huge selection (wine by the glass is easier and also had a great selection). Washing machine works great, but make sure you include ample time for things to air dry. The only downside to the apartment was that the bed was really quite firm - there are blankets in the closet if you need extra padding. Great stay in Rome!
